Hey folks,

To update you on what the funding committee (Paula, Chaya, Angela before she moved to Toronto, Brenda & I) has been up to - we've put in 3 funding proposals so far, one to the City, that wasn't successful, one to the SMART fund which unofficially has been successful but we need to get the official word, which should happen any day now, and one to the United Way that we'll hear back about this month.  yay!

We'll be getting $15,000 from the SMART fund to do the mapping initiative as phase 1 of a project re. mapping, follow up on key initiatives etc. but it has to be spent by the end of March, which means we have to move fast.

Basically, we need to form a hiring cttee ASAP so that we can hire a part-time coordinator for the mapping project ASAP.  The hiring cttee would need to do up a job description & a job posting; figure out how we're going to advertise; decide on a closing date; figure out interview questions; & do the interviews.  I've emailed Paula Carr from Collingwood Neighbourhood House, and she's agreed to send us their job description etc. for their food security coordinator, so we can use that as a starting place for ours. 

I think we'll need 1 meeting before christmas so that we can get the job posting out as soon as we officially hear word from the SMART fund. 

Who would be interested in meeting about this?

Also, here are 3 potential meeting times for next week as a starting point (but if these don't work & you're interested in being involved, please send around other options that would work for you.
