Free Mountain Bike Clinics for beginners by SACA
The last of several free Bike Clinics will be held this Saturday.
Meant for new riders and intermediate level bikers.
To join, go to: http://asia.groups.yahoo.com/group/smurfs_bike_clinics/Briskwalking and Ubin Cycling programmes.
Interestingly the Singapore amateur Cycling Association is offering a series
of clinics that are open to new riders, and quite suitable to many who
turned up for our Ubin bike rides. Get a grip on how to deal with a bike,
handle variable terrain, and make simple adjustments and fixes.
Some of you may remember Daniel Sng, one of the guides during the Ubin bike
rides. He is one of the instructors at this clinic.
Yap Chi Wei, who attended the session on 1st June had this to say:
(experienced or otherwise) should attend it at least once.
Most aspects of bike riding were covered and flat changing with practice was
included. Practice also included some rides on parts of the mountain biking
competition course.
Later, after a talk on first aid given by a doctor, we continued riding some
more and several of us even did a loop of the competition route. It was
hard, but not impossible. “
