a simple question

I have a simple qn it would be great if someone cared to answer this

 

why is  (0,1)x(0,1/2)x(0,1/3)x(0,1/4)x.........(0,1/n)x........ not(?) an open subset set of R infinity .

Hi, I think this set is not open, because p=(1/2,1/4,1/6,...,1/2n,...) isn't an interior point for this set with product top. shuva gupta...

hi, its not open in product topology becos the basis for product topology consists of products of open sets (U_1, U_2,...) where U_i=R except for finitely many...
