THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO , DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New
Mexico invites applications for a probationary position leading to a
tenure decision as Assistant Professor in the area of Analysis with
preference in Harmonic Analysis, Partial Differential Equations (PDEs),
and Probability. Exceptionally well-qualified senior candidates may be
considered.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related discipline.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Preference will be given to candidates with contributions to
research in the areas of analysis including Harmonic Analysis, Partial
Differential Equations (PDEs), and Probability.
* Publication record in recognized premier journals, which demonstrate
an impact on a field of scholarship.
* Evidence or expectation of a strong research program with an
emerging national/international reputation. The evidence will include
strong letters of recommendation from prominent mathematicians or
scientists in related fields.
* Expected contributions to research in areas of interest to the
department and ability to help expand the group's interactions with other
departments and/or local laboratories.
* Committed to excellence in teaching and service at the undergraduate
through graduate level and desire to participate in an environment
comprising significant cultural diversity.
* Postdoctoral experience.
