I would also like to spread the word about a possible tenure-track assistant professor
position at Wayne State University. Areas are not specified. I encourage interested
junior harmonic analysts to apply for this position.

Sincerely yours,

I want to spread the word about three positions at Trinity College.

1) The Harold L. Dorwart Visiting Assistant Professorship.

The Harold L. Dorwart Visiting Assistant Professorship is a
three-year, non-renewable position, to begin August, 2009. It offers
a competitive salary and monetary support for research related travel.
The teaching load is five courses per year ("3/2"), one of which is a
research seminar to be taught with a senior member of the department.
A Ph.D. in mathematics is required, along with evidence of superior
teaching performance. This year the department is hiring two Dorwart
Assistant Professors. We are seeking applicants with specialization in
functional analysis, continued fractions and special functions,
geometric group theory, harmonic analysis, or microlocal analysis and
spectral theory.

Applications for this position should be submitted via www.math-jobs.org.

2) One year visiting assistant professors

Subject to funding approval, Trinity will hire one or more one year
assistant professors. The application process is the same as that for
the Dorwart and is done via www.math-jobs.org.

3) The Ann M. Plato Diversity Fellowship

Ann Plato Pre/Post-Doctoral Diversity Fellowship at Trinity College
Trinity College invites applications for a one-year pre- or
post-doctoral fellowship to promote diversity at our nationally
recognized liberal arts college in Hartford, Connecticut. Ann Plato
Fellows will join the faculty in one of over 30 academic departments
or interdisciplinary programs, interact regularly with colleagues and
students on campus, and work on their own research. Pre-doctoral
fellows will teach one course during the year; post-doctoral fellows
will teach two courses.

Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents
who will contribute to enhancing diversity at Trinity College by
increasing ethnic and racial diversity, maximizing the educational
benefits of diversity, and/or increasing the number of professors who
can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education
of students.

Pre-doctoral applicants must demonstrate that they will complete all
terminal degree requirements (except the dissertation) before
beginning the fellowship year. Post-doctoral (or post-MFA) applicants
should have no more than five years of teaching or relevant experience
before holding a fellowship.

Date of fellowship: September 1, 2009 to May 31, 2010

Stipend: Between mid-$40,000 (pre-doctoral) to mid-$50,000
(post-doctoral), plus health benefits, office space, computer,
conference travel expenses, and assistance in finding housing near campus.

To apply on-line, visit our website:
http://www.trincoll.edu/Academics/DeanOfFaculty/AnnPlatoFellowship.htm

Note: The application procedures are different since the Ann Plato
Fellowship is a College-wide program. Candidates in mathematics are
encouraged to apply for both the Ann Plato and Dorwart positions.
