Hi,
I've just returned from a School trip we did to Uganda, and
amazingly, for a developing country, we were able to blog as we
went, I took HBlogger with me on my Treo 600, as I'd successfully
used it last year to blog our way along the thames path in the UK,
BUT, and here's the issue:
-- Some networks over there didnt support direct TCP access via
GPRS, only HTTP via a proxy server - the issue is that hblogger
doesnt inherit the proxy setting set in blazer, and (clearly), it's
not possible to FTP images from the phone during posting either - so
my plea is:
-- Add proxy support for the app, this will make it work on networks
that dont support direct TCP access without the use of a proxy.
-- Can you add support to do a HTTP Post of images?, I tried this
with a fellow geek while I was out there, he wrote a little .php
page that would slingshot posted images to my FTP site, but sadly,
the blazer browser does not support throwing a file-selector to
choose photos etc --perhaps there are other blog sites that can take
a http upload of an image that might work?
I guess this is a tall order, but it might help some potential users
of the app, if it would support a proxy, so they can at least blog
using it, if they cant upload images.... sadly, we had to use blazer
to do our blogging out there, so missed out on what is an excellent
Palm app.
Keep it up!
Mart.
