Hi,
I'm having the same problem. So maybe the urgency of this problem is
a bit higher than suggested in this group.

regarding "invalid/unparsable server data format" - I'm getting the
same message. I contacted Hblogger support. I received response that
they will try to find out what is causing it. For me it looks like a
glitch bc the only problem I noticed is that message is not saved
under
posted (it stays in drafts)
uploading images from the treo - I use edit post>>Upload image>> I
enter description and select image and hit OK <- and that's it
to be able to successfully upload images I had to enter full path (as
it can be seen while connected through FTP client, with "/" at the
end)
in "Upload FTP Server:"
and full path to the folder where images are saved (as it can be seen
from web browser, with "/" at the end)in "Target URL:"
posting text from my 650 to a wordpress blog yields the following
result. invalid/unparsable server data format. the post works however.
is this just a glitch i should ignore? it would be annoying not to
have a post successful mesage.
also a rookie question. if i'm uploading an image from the treo, do i
also have have to include the image url tag data?
thanks,
alex.
Well I got it working. I changed my mobile to a Nokia 8910i, set it
all up and hey presto, pictures on my blog. Just off to lay down my
cash and register this excellent piece of software.
Thanks to everyone who offered help.

What's wrong with using the SD card? Just curious, but I use the "Treo
650" version now.

Typically, you would NOT have "www" in your FTP address. In fact,
usually, it would be "ftp.alsybarclay.co.uk"
Are you sure you are using the correct settings?
sounds like the FTP entry is incorrect if there is no
host.

Hi Tony
Thanks for the thought, but that didn't help my issue. The last pic
I uploaded was http://www.alsybarclay.co.uk/brokencar.jpg and I
already have all that, minus the photo title, in the target URL.
Thanks for your suggestion though.
As it stands I'm still getting the 'no such host' message. I'm going
to email NormSoft and see if they can help.

Alison, I finally worked out the issues and was able to upload photos. I found that my problem resided in the fact the Target URL wasn't specific enough. When I was having the issue you speak of, my Target URL was tonyandkarin.us but I found I needed to be more specific as to exactly where the picture would be view from. So, I recommend finding a photo which you already have uploaded to your blog which is viewable, then right click the photo in the blog and select Properties. Note the path to where the picture resides and add that entire address (not including the file name of the photo you are viewing) as the Target URL.
That should solve your problem or at least get you closer to a solution.
Good luck, once it works it freakin' rules! Already went over and slapped down $14.95 for the registered version.

I've had that problem as well, but it's not consistant. So, I'm not sure of the cause or the potential solution. I recommend emailing support@.... I've been in communication with them attempting to solve my issues and they've been helpful, though we haven't solved the problem yet.
Are you using a Treo 650 or 600?
There is a mobile blog service blogger.com is running and you can check it out here:
It posts blog entries via MMS, not sure if you have that ablility in the UK or not, but I believe it will upload pictures and link them for you as hblogger should. I tried a text only entry and that worked, not sure about the photos.
As far as your FTP settings go, I'm not sure. My setting in blogger for FTP is lunar.powweb.com, but when using SmartFTP (an FTP application I have), I log into an entirely different FTP server to access my sites files.
Anyway, I recommend support@... , they'll be able to help you out.

Same here except with Treo 600. Only it wasn't always doing it yet I
can't determine why it's occuring now. Anyone have any ideas?

Hiya,
I raised the issue of Squarespace support for hblogger late last year
(Nov-Dec 2004, thereabouts) and was told that it would be "coming soon".

Just wondering when you will have the treo 650 version out? I use the
software right now but it does not work with attaching images from the
phone...have to use the SD card.

And When exactly will there be a new version? I get a bit annoyed
with
Hblogger together with my Treo650. I spent money on this tool but
never uses it waiting for an upgrade.

That functionality is not something that's implemented in HBlogger,
but the normal behaviour of MovableType's XMLRPC API. If there's no
explicit title value available in the XMLRPC command, the first 5
words of the body are used as title.

current "support" for Title wherein you just duplicate
some of the body text?
That is worse than nothing, in my opinion...

Hi,
are there any plans to provide some enhance support for the Movable
Type XMLRPC Api in HBlogger in the (near) future? I just took a look
into their XMLRPC-Server Code and there are lots of things which are
really useful (like "Title", "Category" etc.). Currently I have to
re-edit my post every time :-( using a browser.
I'm using HBlogger on a Treo650 with a Movable Type based blog on my
own server.
Sascha
In the Image Preferences screen I don't seem to have the 'Image Search
Path' menu item. Is this for registered users only, or am I missing
something? I'm running version 2.0.
Thanks, -- Neil
I've got a Cingular Treo 650 (GSM), and I just downloaded the hblogger
demo. I started a brand new blog on Blogger, and sent an all-text post
without any problems.
I configured the image uploading settings to point to an FTP site I
have an account on. I tried sending a post with a photo. It chewed on
sending the image for a while, then reset the Treo. (no reset loop,
thankfully)
I tried again, with the same results. Is this a known issue with the 650s?
Okay...I got it working. I ended up setting up my own FTP server at
home and messed around until I duplicated the problem. It seems that
my particular problem had to do with the kind of connection the FTP
server was using...passive, or active. For some reason (I'm no expert
in this stuff) a passive connection will work fine, but from some
servers, an active connection doesn't work correctly. I just happened
to pick a couple of servers to start off with that wouldn't let the
active connection through. At any rate, I've now learned alot about
FTP servers that I didn't know before. I am very happy with the way
this all works together, and I appreciate the extra time you gave me
to figure it out. I have sent my money to register the program, and am
happily using it. Maybe this information can help someone else out
some day. Thanks again.
Oh yeah, my service is on Cingular (forgot to answer this earlier)

I think this got lost in the P0ppag0th thread, but I am having an issue in which
images
properly upload, but as the wrong filename (perhaps as a temp filename). The
transfer
then fails with the message "FTP proc: ftp_send_STOR::quickRead Net error:
Request
timeout netcode=4626" and the LiveJournal post is not made.
Basically, the image I am trying to upload is called "Photo_032005_001.jpg" and
each time
I attempt to post an image, I get a new file on the server called
"Photo_032005_001_138832009.jpg" (where that last number, "138832009," is a
seemingly random number each time). I would assume these are temporary files,
as they
are the proper size and that if I know one of the filenames ahead of time, I can
pull it up in
a browser and see it. I would assume my hblogger connection settings are
correct, as it
can connect to the server, log in, change to the proper directory, and somehow
get the
file's bits to the server. Unfortunately, I only have access to HTTP logs, not
FTP logs.
This is on a 650 with service from T-Mobile. The FTP server that my hosting
provider
(dreamhost.com) uses is ProFTPD 1.2.5rc1. HBlogger reports itself as being
v2.0. I could
create another dummy user on my hosting service for a developer or tech support
person
if that would help diagnose the issue.

First, thanks for getting me a bit more time to work this out. I
really want it to work.
I've been trying a number of things to get it going. Now I'm trying to
find a different FTP server to try it out on. That doesn't seem to be
my problem, but hey, who knows. Thanks for the tips...even though they
haven't worked out yet, they at least help me rule out some things.
(Actually, it might be handy if someone could set a trial FTP server
that we know works with the right info in the slots ... at least it
would be easy to rule some things out for people in the future.)
I will say that it seems best to wait a bit between attempts to post
(upload). Trying to repost too fast seems to cause it to fail right away.
I will keep you updated on my progress, and on whatever finally works.
Good thing I enjoy puzzles.
Thanks,

I apologize to all, for stating that pictures are not supported on the Treo
650. I wasn't up to speed on the work-around for supporting pictures on the
650. (i.e. copy your pictures to your card) I recently went from a 600 to
a 650 and knew that the default picture support didn't work due to a format
change.
So now I have got my Treo 650 working with pictures. Thanks to barky81!
Poppagoth I would like to solve your problem, because once you've got it
working it is extremely cool.
Here is an example of how I am entering my image upload preferences.
Perhaps you will be able to spot something different on your device:
mark@... <--- NOTE: No initial ftp:// entered and no
trailing slash at end of the URL.
I will work on getting you an extended trial of the product, so that you can
get this working. We appreciate your patience.
By the way, what service provider is your 650 on?

[STUFF DELETED]
I have read through your posts, and found many of them helpful. I have
gone back through all the settings and reworked everything I could
think of. I'm guessing the problem is some setting in hBlogger, since
I can FTP from any desktop and from EzFTP from the Treo without any
problems. Unfortunately, I am out of my free trial time and still
haven't gotten it to work properly. Hopefully I can find a solution to
this soon.
Thanks for your help,

That sounds almost exactly like the same problem. If you come up with
a solution to the problem, please let me know. I am at a dead end
right now.

I have to say that I am getting a similar error on a 650. The specific error
message is "FTP
proc: ftp_sendSTOP::quickRead Net error: Request timeout netcode=4626." I do
not have
access to the FTP logs of the server, but logging in with a command-line FTP
client shows
that the photo was [sort of] successfully uploaded. The original file name of
the thing I
was posting was Photo_032005_001.jpg. A file of the same size (and which looks
alright
in a web browser) is in the folder called "Photo_032005_001_138832009.jpg". If
I attempt
to upload multiple times, I get the same filename with a different random number
at the
end.
I would hazard a guess that the file got uploaded as a temp file and was meant
to be
renamed to the final filename, but something keeps dying during the rename.

I enjoy hblogger very much, but it would really
benefit from spell checking. To that end, I purchased
LexSpell American English from www.beiks.com for $15.
I can easily summon it from within hblogger and go
through the process of spell checking. Sometimes it
pastes in my corrections, and sometimes it
doesn't--grr. In VersaMail, LexSpell works
consistently. I've not used it in any other
applications, though DocsToGo uses a version of it,
apparently.
Honestly, I don't know if this inconsistency is a
problem with LexSpell or hblogger, but can you improve
support for LexSpell, if possible? Having to open
posted articles in Blogger to correct spelling there
is tedious.
The LexSpell page for Developers is:
