Description
**Update - July 2011 **
This is a Group to support and discuss - The OEM 2.5" USB HDD Portable Multimedia players (PMP)/OTG Enclosures, that are Made in China and sold under various brand names..Originally , this group was created in 2006 and the players only supported standard Def TV.Now in 2011 things have moved on a little , so this group has been updated to include support for the new generation of 1080P players that support Hi-def TV output via HDMI.
At this time , the actual makers of these enclosures are unknown , but the main processor chip is the BoxChip F10 (aka SoChip 9800).This is a new processor , that now supports many of the popular HD formats inc .M2TS and also .MKV.Also with support for the OTG USB Standard wich allows you to directly transfer photos from a SD card to the internal 2.5" SATA hard disk without the need of a PC/Laptop.
(These products are very good and unique, but other than the manuals supplied with them (which are poorly translated)there is VERY little info available todo them. Please feel free to share any infomation you may have on manufactures,un-documented features, updated firmware etc,Etc...
See the FAQ's (in the files section),that I have complied from the information I know or have managed to discover.
I would just like to stress that I am in no way connected with anyone or any company that sells these products - I just have a interest in them , as there is very little information available on them at this moment in time..
All pictures on this group were obtained by search Engines, uploaded by others or taken by myself, but are still Copyright of their respective owners, and will be removed if Requested.
The Discussion of illegal copyright activities will NOT be allowed. We would love to see Discussion of Compatiable firmware , updates for which seem to be hard to obtain.
