Re: CAT question: largest TM and TB

I do feed a TB - just obviously rather less than I'd thought :-). And
as for the lexicon, I just export it and import it into the new project
and carry on adding to it. It's a new client, and a new field for me,
and I prefer to be absolutely certain of new term pairs before I add
them to anything permanent.

And yes, you wouldn't expect me to keep my recent backups anywhere near
the computer I run DV on, now, would you? The others are at home and/or
on my laptop. IT bunged it on a non-RW disk, so I figured I might as
well keep it, just in case of total disaster ...

BTW, your keeping the USB in the car idea is all very well, except if
you have the misfortune to be targeted like someone I know: he went down
the pool/snooker club, someone spiked his (I trust non-alcoholic :-) )
drink and managed to get his keys off him. So it was off to the car
park, blip the button on the key fob to find out which car it was, turn
the engine on, programme "Home" into the satnav, drive there and use the
attached house keys to get into the house, so you get the house contents
and something to drive them away in. Clever.

Alison

Hi Alison,

We clearly all work in slightly (or indeed significantly) different
ways, but in view of the fact that the Lexicon is project specific I'm
surprised that you don't feed and maintain a main TB (or several smaller

TBs).

How do you migrate the Lexicon between projects? Or am I missing
something?

(And a backup dating back to September 2003???? =-O )

Herbert

Hi Alison I think there is a clear lesson here: stay away from pool/snooker clubs :-) As for permanency, TB entries can quite easily be deleted or modified. ...
