I know that there are frequent speculations on what might be IBM's
position on Hercules, but in the absence of any actual statement, I
wonder if we are not in danger of inventing demons which don't
actually exist?

Oh, I think that is a very real problem indeed. That is why I was so darn careful to point out I was only asking about Hercules, not about the OS running on...
