Something of almost as great a significance was the side comments about
Hawass approving DNA testing. Somethingh he has previously been very much
against. Not sure much will come of it. Problem is taht so many of the
mummy's are only flimsily identifed and were not found in original coffins
and wrappings. Comparing the DNA of Hatshepset to Thutmosis I will only be
useful if you are psositive about the identification of both mummy's. If
the test show no relation does taht mean that Hatshepset was NOT the
daughter of Thutmosis or that one of the mummy's is mis-identified. I
understand that all the organic unguents used in embalming may well foul up
the DNA sequences.
