Re: [horizonaten] Re: A list of the players...plus the good and bad of each of them
Yeah, was this "Out of Egypt" ? Interesting note - he refers to Akhenaten as Moses, yet when Moses 'fled' Egypt, he encounters Per Rameses -
Pi-Ramesses (Per-Ra-mes-su)
In the Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt, Avaris regained its past glory when Pharaoh Ramesses II founded his new capital at this old site.
Akhenaten lived in the 18th Dynasty, as is well known. A wee bit early. Obviously, Avaris existed prior. But to name it the 'House of Rameses' implies that that pharaoh himself deemed it that. No?
Many debates as to the exact chronology, however this is off.

Hi Dee,
I believe these identifications come from a fringe theory posited by Ahmed Osman.
In addition to Thutmose III=David & Amenhotep III=Solomon, Osman also suggests that Akhenaten is Moses, going further by identifying Tutankhamun with Joshua and, by extension, Jesus.
If you go to http://freespace. virgin.net/ a.osman/ you can find an overview of Osman's thinking. As you can imagine, there are a good many scholars and laypersons (myself included) who have a hard time believing his theories.
Kind regards,
Graham
