Hi

The page sends the results when the variable that keeps track of whether
or not the page is finished is set to true. The variable is names
Finished. You'll need to modify the javascript code so that variable
gets set to true under the conditions you want, rather than under the
current conditions.

Hi,

in JCLose I am using the (unsupported) send email feature, but the results only
get sent, when all the answers are correct. I however want to send the form
immediately after the test person clicks on on the "Check" button. I could not
find the proper option in the html file to have this behaviour. Do you have any

Hi,

i want to send the results via email (FormMail). It works, but only when pop-up
windows are not disabled. I think many people use pop-up blockers, so I am
looking for a way to email the results with a pop-up blocker enabled.

Any idea how to do that?

Thanks a lot

Beste Mohammed,

Not trough e-mail but there isa very handy way to get grip on the results. Use
potfile from Gerald Grow. It's in de file-section of this board.
One thing: it's made in the time of IE version 6. It can give trouble with other
IE browsers. But it works fine in Mozilla for instance.

Sorry to everybody about our speaking Spanish.

Hola:

Creo que lo que intentas hacer es algo similar a un test formal. Creo que Hot
Potatoes no está concebido para eso aunque si tienes conocimientos de html y
javascript tal vez Martin o Stewart te puedan ayudar a hacer algo parecido (creo

Juan

Hi there,

For entering maths, there are three options:

1. For simple requirements such as superscripts and subscripts, you can
use HTML code. For example, 2 will create a superscripted 2
(for "squared"). Check out the Help file topic "Keystroke shortcuts for
HTML tags" for more information on using HTML tags like this.

2. Use MathML, and make sure your users have browsers that support it.
This is by far the best option, especially for maths teachers who should
already be familiar with MathML. We're not maths teachers, though, so
we're not really in a position to help. This is a good place to start,
if you haven't used it before

http://www.w3.org/Math/

You should be able to type or paste MathML code directly into HotPot
text fields and get good results. The Mozilla family of browsers
(Mozilla, Firefox, Camino etc.) support MathML.

3. Use Unicode characters. The Unicode character set contains a huge
number of maths symbols, and these will cover most of your needs. For
this, you need Windows2000 or XP, and a good Unicode font covering all
the symbol ranges; then you can use Insert / Unicode characters to get
the characters into HotPot.

Hope this helps,
Martin

Hi there,

I think you just need to create a web page with a textarea element, and
a button that hides and shows your model answer. HotPot doesn't create
anything like that, so you'd need to do it for yourself.

Martin

Doesn't sound so odd for our team...

We will tell them for each question a model answer we consider correct
and they'll have to compare and evaluate themselves if they find their
answer correct
What I just want to avoid is automatic correction. This might work for
short answer and very specific questions but not for longer or more
complex questions. In these cases correction by exact matching nearly
always gives incorrect feedback, and when a whole sentence has to be
answered it is impossible to forsee all correct answer possibilities...

best Joachim

Hi, I'm publishing online materials language learning and the content editiors
designed a series of open answer exercises. Students have to answer questions

As far as I see it I could do it using the feedback function of JQuiz short

Hi there,

If the browser supports XHTML, CSS and JavaScript, then quizzes should
work fine. I would guess that a recent iPhone with a full version of
Safari should work fine. I've never tried it, though.

Will the resultant quizzes generated by JQuiz run on mobile phone browsers ?

If so, has anyone had any experience using JQuiz in this way ?

Thabks,
David Berghouse.

Hot Potatoes. But, the student will only be awarded one mark if they choose all
the correct options. I dont want partial scores. And, could this be exported to
Moodle?

You can have as many as you like, just scroll down (the "up" arrow on
the left) to see more options.

Thanks Elek, I'll try that.

One other question. In JQuiz is it possible to increase the number of options
(answers) available? At the moment the number is 4, A-D.

John.

Hello John,

In JQuiz, choose the multi-select question type (on the right). It can
be exported to Moodle.

Hello

Is it possible to create a multiple choice, multiple answers question in Hot
Potatoes. But, the student will only be awarded one mark if they choose all the
correct options. I dont want partial scores. And, could this be exported to
Moodle?

At the moment Moodle isnt able to produce this question in the format I would
like.

Regards

John.
