Dell is creating an even greater focus on customer needs, wants, and
perceptions during the design process to provide best-in-class
products and a superior customer experience. In order to do this, we
are growing our Human Factors team. We are looking for people who are
skilled in HF/Usability, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment,
and understand product design.
General Summary:
Apply user-centered design methods to create and develop innovative
human factors solutions and drive these solutions across both
consumer and enterprise lines of business. Collaborate on the design
of products with cross-functional team members including Industrial
Design, Graphic Design, Engineering, and Marketing. Ensure that
customer feedback and general human factors principles are
incorporated into the design by creating UI guidelines, developing
prototypes, conducting usability tests, analyzing user behavior, and
translating customer feedback into design solutions.
Preferred education and skills include:
• Usability/HF experience related to product design, preferably in
the PC or consumer electronics sector
• Advanced degree in HCI, Human Factors, Behavioral Science, Computer
Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline
• Experience with design and testing of product hardware and/or
software
• Experience in experimental design (surveys, field studies, and
usability testing)
• Proven track record of implementing user-centered designs
• Ability to operate under tight date-driven schedules
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams including
Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Engineering, and Marketing
• Ability to manage multiple programs and determine appropriate
prioritization
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Excellent teamwork skills
