The annual Psychonomics conference will be held in Houston this year. For those
who are
interested in learning a little more about the basic science that informs some
of the
fundamental tenants and guidelines of Human Factors, this is a great
opportunity. Note that
registration is free, but you have to pay $20 for a program.
The Psychonomic Society promotes the communication of scientific research in
psychology
and allied sciences. Its members are qualified to conduct and supervise
scientific research,
must hold the PhD degree or equivalent, and must have published significant
research other
than the doctoral dissertation. Society membership, including associate members,
is now
around 2,500.
The 47th Annual Meeting will be November 16–19, 2006, in Houston. The 46th
Annual
Meeting was held November 10–13, 2005, in Toronto. Programs (abstracts) are
available at
the meetings, or, beginning with the 1996 meeting, through the Publications
Office.
Approximately 1,600–2,000 attend the meetings, and about 750–900 papers and
posters are
presented.
