2007 South Texas Symposium on Human Factors and Ergonomics

ALAMO CHAPTER
The Alamo Chapter of HFES is hosting the 2007 South Texas Symposium
on Human Factors and Ergonomics. This year the symposium will be
held at Willis Hall on Ft Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX. We
encourage submissions for oral presentations from industry,
government, and academia. Presentations should focus on current
research, current issues, or practical applications of human factors
and ergonomics. Presentation format can be lecture, panel
discussion, debate, or demonstration. The anticipated duration of
each presentation is 20 minutes including discussion and questions.
If you anticipate a longer presentation, you may request a longer
duration. Abstracts from the 2005 Symposium can be found at:
http://www.alamo-hfes.org/mas.htm. The deadline to submit your one
page abstract is March 9, 2007. Registration cost for the conference
is $20.00 (Free for students).
We especially encourage students to attend the conference and submit
their work. Registration costs for students are waived. In addition,
we are offering a student paper award. Papers submitted by students
will be judged and the best presentation will receive a cash award
of $75.00. The majority of the work in the presentation must be that
of the student.
Single page submissions must contain the following information:
1 – Presentation Title (not to exceed 12 words)
2 – Author(s) and affiliation(s)
3 – 250-word abstract concisely describing the presentation
4 – Type of presentation, lecture, debate, panel discussion
5 – Primary point of contact for correspondence
6 – Indicate if the primary author is a student and whether
the paper should be considered for the student paper award
