Concepts for living in space go back over a century, possibly longer.
From "The Brick Moon" written in 1869 by Edward Everett Hale, to Jules
Verne in 1879 to J.D. Bernal in the 1920's to Gerard K. O'Neill and
Freeman Dyson in the 1960's the idea of living permanently in space
has fascinated our imaginations. Many studies have been done on the
feasibility of space colonies but to date, no plans have been
published and few principle plans are available on the net that can be
expanded upon. Furthermore, only a small fraction of the technology
needed has been tested (life support, mineral processing, construction
in space, ect...) As such, I have created this group to allow like
minds interested in making living in space a reality to come together
and share their knowledge and ideas. The focus of the group is to
discuss the realities of building colonies in space and living in space.
