Hi everyone,
It has come to my attention that me posting an entry
and hosting the compo may not be fair to other competitors.
As most of you may know, when I host the compo *and* submit
and entry, my entry is of my own work. I do not look at
your entry's source for hints or secrets. All I do is
see that your entry runs on the 'test suite' and post the
results.
You will just have to trust that I don't look at your entries.
However, you have noticed now and in the past that I don't
rank my entry, so that there is no question whether I cheated
or not.
Boreal told me himself, that his entry is simply a conversion
from one assembler to the other. Little or no optimization.
I mentioned previously that I think a 500 byte entry is
possible. My 544 byte entry is far from complete. I
still have 4 TD's with 8 bytes each of empty, non used, space
taking up room in my .com file.
I hope that I didn't discourage anyone from participating
with my entry. I know there are those out there that
can probably come up with a 400 byte entry. I have seen
magical things happen.
Also, there is no rule stating that you can not look at
past compos' source code for hints. Infact, I looked over
Ruud's hc17 entry just last night.
Hope everyone is wanting to participate. Please do find
the time to enjoy this compo with us.
Thanks,
Sniper
