Description
Society & Animals Forum launched the Human-Animal Studies listserve in October, 2003 . Society and Animals Forum is now ASI, Animals and Society Institute with a website at http://www.animalsandsociety.org/. In addition to joining this discussion group we welcome you to explore and use the resources on the ASI website.
NEW MEMBERS to our discussion group are welcome. HOWEVER, INDIVIDUALS WISHING TO JOIN THE GROUP MUST APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE FOLLOWING WAY: briefly state your interest in the field of human-animal studies when SUBMITTING YOUR EMAIL WHEN YOU APPLY TO JOIN THE GROUP, ANYONE WHO FAILS TO SUBMIT THIS INFORMATION WILL BE DENIED MEMBERSHIP. This step had minimized the inappropriate posting of commercial announcements and offensive material.
The listserve is dedicated to the scholarly discussion of anything pertaining to the multi-disciplinary field of human-animal studies. Sponsored by ASI, the list is open to any scholar (faculty, graduate or undergraduate student or unaffiliated writer or researcher) with an interest in expanding the field of human-animal studies.
News, conference announcements, calls for papers, discussion of research and theory, support and resources for teaching or research, and other related topics are encouraged. We welcome contributions from anthropologists, sociologists, psychologists, philosophers, literary scholars, historians, biologists, ethologists, and other academics who are interested in furthering this new field.
THANK YOU!
