Hakalau is the "waking meditation" of the Kahuna. One meaning of
Hakalau is "to focus in and to spread out."
Hakalau is good for learning, disassociating, energy testing,
teaching, seeing auras, etc. It's probably the fastest way to learn
alpha there is.
"Daddy" Bray talked about how it was necessary for Kahuna practice,
but he didn't teach HOW, and there were other Kahuna techniques for
theta.
There's been a lot of talk about looking up just above eye level on
the list lately, and THAT'S WHERE YOU START ...
STAGE ONE
It's good to start in a room with a wall ... you might even want it
to be the South wall, if you know what I mean.
Just pick a spot on the wall to look at, above eye level, so that
your field of vision just meets your eyebrows, but NOT so high so as
to cut off your field of vision.
As you stare at that spot, just let your mind go loose, and focus all
of your attention on the spot until you notice your vision begins to
spread out.
Let it spread out until you can see both corners of the wall (You'll
begin to see more in the peripheral than you do in the central part
of your vision, even though you're keeping your eyes "on" that spot).
Begin to pay more attention to the peripheral than to the central
part of your vision as you allow your vision to spread down until you
can see all four corners of the wall.
Relax and continue to let your vision spread back until you have (or
seem to have" 180 degree peripheral vision.
Stay in this state for as long as you can. Notice how it feels.
Notice the ecstatic feelings that begin to come to you as you
continue the state.
That's the FIRST STAGE ... here's some experiences from The Huna
Ohana.

Yes ... Take them off.
Practice the drill until it gets "hardwired" into your neurology,
THEN you can chose to wear them or not even though you MAY be
surprised at what happens.
Sometimes these things STILL blow me away.
I was teaching Hakalau to a group, and after the third stage we were
doing the finger test ...
Basically the Testor holds up a finger behind, brings it around the
side, to the front, and has the Testie says "OK" when they can see it.
In normal foveal vision (where you're focused on one thing) the
finger has to be almost in front of them before they see it.
In regular peripheral vision, most can see it at about a 45 degree
angle or better.
In Hakalau, almost everyone can see the finger before it's even with
the ear ... i.e. BEHIND the 180 degree plane of vision ... PHYSICALLY
BEHIND THE EYE.
As I was demonstrating this, shrieks came from one group.
They were trying it on someone who is LEGALLY BLIND IN ONE EYE ...
i.e. no vision except some color smears, and THAT ONLY in the VERY
CENTER of his field of vision. (Some of you know him).
So, what happened?
Foveal vision ... pretty much a wash.
Peripheral vision ... nothing.
Hakalau ... he was able to SEE the FULL 180 degree open field of
vision ... yes ... even on the physically blind side.
So we said, "Hmmmm ... maybe there's something to this?"

You're learning to "see things differently." --Vince

I'm not picking up on that because it's a general change in how
you're seeing things. Believe me, hang out on ANY busy city street
and you'll see people with "dark clouds." -Vince

Good. If it "snaps back," just ...
1. Look at the spot.
2. Spread your vision out.
3. Spread it down.
4. and back.
I broke it up into three stages because you want to be able to HOLD
the state BEFORE you do the next step.
But, you can add the rest of stage one I "accidentally" left out ...
BTW ... "stage one" is Hakalau, so you'll HAVE "already got" the
drill after you've done "the rest of the story" ... below. The next
stages will move you toward the "what else?" stage.
>And I am interesting in learning more!
Here's more.
While your vision is spread-out like you've already learned to do
and you've ALREADY noticed what you're "picking up" in that state
noticing what feelings you felt ... you have, haven't you?
So, as you DO THAT, you can (just pretend) imagine what it would feel
like if you could "sort of" feel everything in your field of vision?
And ... as you're in that state
what would it feel like if you
could feel all around you ... 360 degrees.
That's the COMPLETE STAGE ONE

Thanks Chad ... isn't it GREAT!
This is how I learned to see auras for the first time ... it's
probably the FASTEST "ESP" training there is.
A couple of years ago I was doing a Huna intensive and we literally
had one student who as close to being someone "just pulled off the
street" as you can get ... a (then) new "customer service" lady for
HRI, with absolutely NO experience and almost no interest in "this
Huna stuff" or anything like it.
She was just there to help out.
So I'm teaching the "Learn How to See Auras in Less than 5
minutes" section ... a simple 4-step process ... and, OF COURSE ...
Hakalau is the first step.
I don't think she even wanted to do it ... she made all kinds of
excuses as to why it wouldn't work for her, etc. etc. ...
... BUT ...
... she SAW the AURA ... and she saw it RIGHT AWAY ...
She was in such "denial" she said, "I don't see anything ... all I
see is all these colors flying around her head!"
Learning is such fun ... is it not?
What is it Doc La Tourrette always says?
"If you DO THE DRILLS ... you GET THE SKILLS."
REPORT FROM STEPHANIE

MY REPLY
It's usually easier to see auras when people are agitated for a
couple of reasons.
1. More EMOTION = more MANA.
2. RED is just MORE NOTICEABLE ...
... like the red Ferrari ...
... like the red dress ...
etc.
STAGE TWO
The more you do it you will start to find that yourself more adept
and be able to "slip" into this state within moments.
This is "Stage One" ... being able to get there easily and to hold
that state. When I'm teaching or doing healing work I hold it all day
long.
Just make sure you're holding it for a few moments before you move
on, that's all.
Stage Two is simply ... WHILE HOLDING THAT STATE, let your eyes drop
down to "normal." Just let the eyes "drop"
staying "defocused" and
make sure you're holding that EXPANDED AWARENESS.
THEN ... once your good at doing that, you can start move to STAGE
THREE ...
STAGE THREE
Try walking around.
Practice doing your daily routines.
Practice driving, like Linda pointed out.
And HOW ELSE could you USE THIS?
WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU "SLIP BACK"
If you find yourself "slipping back" just
1. Look at the spot
2. Spread your vision out
3. ... down
4. ... and back.
It really is that simple. And if you just DO THAT ... you got the
drill.
That 4-Step process is the FASTEST way to learn it.
SO GO OUT and PRACTICE!!!
... It's a real EYE OPENER!
