Sounds like you've used HyperCard from its beginnings. I haven't
encountered the problem that you mentioned. HyperCard is fully capable
of operating in OS X's Classic mode. Perhaps re-install HC?
I think we all wish that HC would be compatible with OS X ...and be
upgraded to version 3.0, 4.0, 5.0+ ....and, oh well, Apple will come
around one of these days, they're just taking a bit longer than we
expected.
