he first and last part of the patch work for me
but not the middle part. Not sure if that is normal.
Tried reinstalling ICQ to see if I would get the same
results, and I did. Ok on the proxy, thanks for the info.
ey Jeff.<br><br>I've checked and double checked
through ICQ friends the proxy hack setup for Build 1620.
The hack does NOT work. The real IP is still
displayed. If you have 2 machines, you can check this
yourself by registering another user on one machine, then
remotely (using PCanywhere, or Remote Desktop)adding the
new user to your contact list. Afterwards, through
the new user's screen, check your info and look for
the IP address. If it is your IP address, then your
proxy hack didn't work.<br><br>As for the patch, the
autoadd worked for me. The patch takes a while to run and
even fails in one execution, but still finishes.

tried the old socks 4 proxy on verson 1650 and
it works, or at least I connect. The true test would
be to have someone message me and see which IP comes
up. The "no authorization" patch does not work with
version 1650, correct?
ow ICQ Works.<br><br> Communication with persons
online is done through a direct TCP connection to that
person. All other communication is done through UDP
packets sent to the ICQ server. All UDP packets must be
acknowledged by the receiver. Retransmission will occur in 10
seconds if a acknowledgement is not received. After 6
unsuccessfull transmissions, a B_MESSAGE_ACK message will be
sent. The whole procedure is repeated 2 times. If there
is still no reply, the ICQ client will assume the
user to be disconneced. <br><br> Before any
communication between users can take place, the client must
register at the server by logging in. During the login
process, the client sends information about itself to the
server, including its IP address, the TCP port reserved
for ICQ, the user's password and the user's contact
list. From now on, the client will assume itself to be
'connected', and will every now and then send a 'keep alive'
message to the server. This keep alive message performs
two functions: it makes the client sure that it still
has<br>access to the server, and it makes the server sure that
the user is still online. By default, the client will
'connect' to the server on UDP port 4000. <br><br>
Functions such as sending messages to offline users,
getting information about a user, searching for users in
the ICQ Global Directory and changing password is
done by sending UDP packets to the ICQ server. These
packets do all follow a simple template, including the
senders UIN, a special code indicating which function the
server should perform, and optional parameters. <br><br>
When a user sends a message/URL/etc to another user
that is currently connected, the ICQ client will
establish a TCP connection directly to that user, and send
the message using a format similar (but not
identical) to the format used by the UDP packet messaging.
After the message has been sent, the TCP connection is
not closed, but instead kept open and used for future
messages to that user. The connection is closed when
either of the two users disconnect from their ICQ
connection.<br><br>-Provided by Magnus Ihse (d95-mih@...)
nfortunately, the only real downside to the new
version is the easy dectection of the user's real IP. The
old Socks4 proxy hack doesn't work for this version,
and I've been unable to find any new exploits. Of
course, with the new IP unhide patch out, our security is
jeapordized bigtime. Most newbie hackers don't know the
netstat command, but will still have access to anyone's
IP. We definitely need some help here. The 99a
version is not officially out, but thousands have it by
now and are sitting ducks. Let's see what we can
do.<br><br>Please join the club (it's free) and post all info

t yahoo. This download is available to members
only. I sent an email with the url for this 2 in 1
patch to every member.<br>Patch not only reveals IP of
all contacts, but will force add new contacts to
avoid the bothersome authorization request.
<br><br>This patch is for ICQ99 !<br><br>If you're not a
member, join ICQ Alterations club now! I will email the

personally see a point to haveing to
Authorize.<br>The chat room I run does not require it but when I am
able to log on as myself I do. There are alot of
people out there that are crude and some just think your
there to entertain them so if you log on they send you
massive amounts of messages. I hate ignoring people but I
find myself on invisible most of the time because
people have me on there list that I don't want to be
bothered by.
f anyone has ICQ99a and would like the latest IP
unhide/unauthorized add-to-contact list patch, I have it for
distribution. However, it is only to be used for
experimentation among friends. Any abuses can and may be tracked.
Send pgp key (if you have it) along with request to:

he hack allows one to add a contact without any
approval. I may not be on ur list but why can't u be on my
list? Why can't I control my contact list, instead of
you controlling it?<br><br>People with authorization

t's helpful in too ways.<br> <br>(1) Control
over who you have on your contact <br> list etc.<br>

everybody and they're mother's uncle would<br> add you to

I!<br> I have tried by doing netstat -n in
ms-dos prompt after sending message in icq to my my

will display IP.However ,in ms-dos prompt did appear

say<br><br><br>proto local address foreign address state <br>TCP

asy to find out whether they're really
online:<br>By following the instructions for netstat given in
previous post, you can determine whether they're
online.<br> At a dosprompt, type "netstat -n". Note the ip's
listed. Then send a message to person whose true status
you want to know.<br>Immediately after sending msg,
type "netstat -n" again. Compare the results you
receive to the results you got the first time you typed
netstat. As long as noone has sent you a message and you
have not done anything besides sending msg to target
inbetween the 1st and 2nd netstat, then a new IP will show
for the person if they are truly online.<br><br> The
reason why this works is because in order for that
message to actually go to their machine a connection has
to be made with them. A connection can only be made
if they are online. Netstat will show you whether a
connection was made.
K so there is no patch available that will
automatically show you the IP's of your friends.<br>You're just
dying to contact them and say, "hey man, this is your
IP xxx.xxx and this is your open ICQ port xxxx! I
OWN YOU!"<br><br>First, send them a message.<br>Then
goto your START button select Programs, and find the
program called "MS Dos Prompt"<br>When the black Dos
window opens, at the c:\windows> , type "netstat -n"
. so it should look like this:
c:\windows>netstat -n<br><br>that will show you the IP's and the
port of individual(s) you just sent a message to. BTW
Will work regardless of icq version. <br><br>"Netstat
-n" can be typed and will work at the > no matter
what it looks like. ie,typing "netstat -n" at c:\>
or c:\program files> will produce the same
results.
