If you're computing normalization online and then try to seek to the
middle of a feature stream, it has to back up to the start and read
all the intermediate frames in order to correctly compute the
normalization.

However, I'm not really sure WHY it's seeking to the middle of the
feature stream. I thought qnstrn would only rewind to the start. I'll
poke around...
