I have been out for a while, sorry for the long delay in replying.
We are in the process of evaluating SQL 2008 so I can not directly
answer your question. But from what I understand and have seen so
far you should not have any issues. One thing is that under each
database you can set the compatability mode so it will think it is
SQL 2005 regarding that database.
Personally I would go with 2008. There are a few nice features that
convinced us to move forward with our upgrade.
