Hello guys!

We are really honoured to have Mr. Theo Sanders, who is now the
Director of Products at Razor and was a former producer at Blizzard,
as a guest speaker for our next IGDA.SSC meeting. He will be talking
about considerations for product design when it comes to games.

The meeting will be from 2pm to 5pm, ending with an informal sharing
session. However, we have not yet confirmed a venue, so please visit
our website at http://www.igdassc.org for more details!

Hi,

During the June holidays, I will be conducting a one-month course on
XNA which will take up to four person max. This is a chance to learn
the basics of the games programming, do a simple 2D game and get
involved in the trend of user-generated games for the Xbox360.

More info at our website can be found here: http://www.igdassc.com/?p=50

Hi guys!

We are going to have a board game chill out on the 22nd March,
Saturday, at Settlers (tentatively). Trying to get a free venue, but
may be a bit hard :)

Anyway, the timing is 2pm to 5pm, and we are to know each other better
(our dream games, for example) and have an exciting fun. We have a
gamut of games which are dynamic and exciting (like Saboteour) and
those who requires strategic precision (A Game of Throne), games of
bluffing (Citadels) and games which is just plain random fun (Kingdoms).

So do drop me a mail at extrakun@... if you are coming!

Hi all!

Just a reminder that we are having our next IGDA SSC meeting on the
23rd Feb. The location is SMU, School of Accountancy, Classroom 2-1,
level 2. More information on the programmee can be found at our
website: http://www.igdassc.com

This time round we are having a game showcase (an informal, casual
one). The goal is not to compare tabs or technology, but to share
ideas, information, and encouragement, and to build a games
development community as a whole. We have about 5 or 6 people who have
stuff to show, besides the usual, so do come down and take a look!

Regards,
Kun Xin

Hi all!

Our next meet-up will be on the 23rd Feb. Here are the details:

Date: 23rd Feb
Venue: SMU
Time: 2pm

So what is going to happen? We are going to have a game sharing
session. If you have done any concept art for games, composed music
for games-related stuff, did a mod (Neverwinter Nights, WC3 etc.),
created a fun game (on any platform, with any tool), paper prototypes,
card games or even board games, we want to see it! It'll be a great
time to share ideas, gather feedback, get tips from others and be
motivated by each other's enthusiasm.

We will be breaking into small groups, about 5 or 6, each with a
laptop, so you can just bring down your stuff on a CD-RW, thumbdrive
or portable hard-disk, even a laptop if you have one. Don't worry;
there's no grading or anything, it's just a time of sharing!

On the list, so far, here are the people who be showing stuff, and as
you can see, it's quite diverse!

  Game Showcase
Justin (Game Maker)
Kun Xin (Director, Flash, C)
Sean (Game Maker)
Bruce (Flash)

We want more entries! :) Please email me at extrakun@... and
tell me what you want to display and I'll arrange accordingly. Oh
yeah, I am also giving away source code as well (for my games, at least).

Please RSVP to extrakun@...

Hi all,

We have posted our recap of the 12th Jan IGDASSC kick-off meeting at
our website, so do come and take a look. And oh yes, we have
photographs! (http://www.igdassc.com/?p=25_

It was a terrific day where we have Donny and Chor Guan from MDA who
discussed about what the government has planned for the games industry
and certainly some of the students were interested in Gambit.

The rest of the time was spent interacting with each other; and there
were a number of familiar faces (Hi Steve!) I am really glad that we
have some students from SP and some even came down after seeing our
event by googling "Singapore games development!"

It's a great start to the year and we hope to organise more useful and
fun-packed meetings down the road.

Regards,
Kun
