SipPhone offers free voice conferancing. You don't have to register for their services at all. If you have a Linksys Sipura ATA (such as PAP2), it is very easy to make voice conferancing.
Here is how you can do: 1- Decide a 7-digit number (Example; 3334444)
2- Type SIP URI of your own conferance room: It should start with 1212, then your 7-digit number, then must end with SipPhone URI @proxy01.sipphone.com (Example; 12123334444@...)
3- After you create your own voice conferance URI (in our example; it is 12123334444@...) copy and send it to your friends/relatives who have a Linksys/Sipura ATA.
4- Including yourself, tell them to paste the URI (example, 12123334444@...) in one of Speed Dials, which can be found ander User 1 or 2 of your PAP2 or SPA.
Save it. Let's say, you and your friends saved it for Speed Dial 2. When you pick up the phone and dial 2 and # , the PAP2 will call your voice conferance room. If you are the first, because there isn't anybody to talk, you will hear some welcome messages. As soon as second person comes to the room, you will be connected to each other.
It is free, easy, and very usefull.

Hello Guys,
I created a way to me more helpful for all of you. I call it Remote
Help. If you follow Remote Help steps, I will be able to help you at
any time when you have a problem with your PAP2. Specially, when you
forget your admin PW.
WHAT DOES REMOTE HELP MEAN ?
It is some steps that as long as you keep, your PAP2 will be
unlocked for sure. Let's say for some reason, you can not remember
your admin PW, or some one made a joke and changed your admin PW. If
you enabled Remote Help, and if you ask my help, I will ask you your
PAP2's MAC number. After I know your MAC number, I will be able to
remove your admin PW that you don't remember.
WHEN I ENABLED REMOTE HELP, CAN YOU MAKE SOME CHANGES?
No, I can't. Even if you enabled Remote Help, because I don't know
your MAC number, I can't do anything. Therefore, it is good to have
Remote Help. If you don't forget your PW, there is no problem at
all; but if you forget your PW, if Remote Help is enabled, and if
you give me your MAC number, than I will be able to remove and clean
your admin PW in 5 minutes while PAP2 is in your home.
Therefore, I suggest all of you to enable Remote Help, and don't
give me your MAC number untill you need my help.
HOW CAN I ENABLE REMOTE HELP?
1- Have your own admin and user PWs. I suggest you to have the same
PW for both user and admin.
2- Go to Provisioning tab and choose Provision Enable as YES
3- In the same page, copy and paste the following link into Profile
Rule
http://www.geocities.com/ilovepap2/Support/spa$MAU.xml
4- Save the settings
HOW CAN I DISABLE REMOTE HELP?
Go to Provisioning tab and choose Provision Enable as NO. That will
stop me helping you.
If you have more questions about Remote Help, contact me privately.
Regards,
Sukru
Hi Guys,
Skype is a softphone. YOU CAN NOT USE SKYPE WITH YOUR PAP2. It is like
Yahoo or MSN messenger. Skype started to offer free calls within Nort
America. You can download the program, install, and use it from your
computer. The web address is http://www.skype.com/
Looks like they will continue offering free calls within Nort America
untill end of this year. If Skype comes up with SIP configuration
solution, I will let you know; but for know, you can not use your ATA
with Skype yet.
Hi again,
I know some of you will be interested in having a Pakistan phone
number. They even give some Canadian numbers and I have no idea how
you buy it. Here is the provider's web:
www.didx.org
For Canadian numbers, they have different prices. Check
www.didx.org/did/
For Pakistan number Price: $5 Setup, and $12 Month
You can try it for 36 Hours for FREE.
For Complete Available DIDs stock, Please visit www.didx.org/did/
P.S.: Please don't ask me how to configure that provider or more
info about them, because I don't know. I just wanted to inform
you.
My Best Wishes...
I've been telling you many times that DO NOT PERFORM FACTORY RESET ON YOUR UNLOCKED PAP2 AT ALL. I finally found, created and figure out a way how you can make a factory reset on your unlocked PAP2 when you need.
The bellow steps will change your current PAP2 settings to default Unlocked PAP2 settings. Because it is not an actual factory reset, I call it PSEUDO Factory Reset. So, whenever you feel like you need to perform a factory reset on your unlocked PAP2, follow the steps. After PSEUDO Factory Reset, your PAP2 settings will be re-freshed and you can start configuring your Unlocked PAP2 by knowing that your PAP2 now has its default values.
Never never factory reset your PAP2 using the phone (the normal way, 73738). If you want to factory reset your PAP2, you can securely PSEUDO Factory Reset it and still have an Unlocked PAP2.
Now, your PAP2 is like kind of PAP2-NA. You can even factory reset it ONLY using PSEUDO Factory Reset. Isn't that great?
AGAIN, never factory reset your PAP2 using 73738. Even after or before PSEUDO Factory Reset.
PSEUDO Factory Reset
1- Go to your PAP2, admin login and advanced view
2- Click on Provisioning
3- Chose "Provision Enable" as "YES"
4- Clear "Profile Rule" and paste the link bellow http://www.geocities.com/ilovepap2/PAP2/PAP2-factoryreset.xml
5- Save the settings
6- Navigate to URL: http://pap2/resync?http://www.geocities.com/ilovepap2/PAP2/PAP2-factoryreset.xml
(Replace "pap2" w/ the IP Address of your PAP2)
or
6- Navigate to URL: http://pap2/admin/reboot
(Replace "pap2" w/ the IP Address of your PAP2)
or
6- Pick up your phone and press the star key 4-5 times (*****)
Max 300 minutes per week of free calls, measured over the last 7 days. Unused free minutes cannot be taken to the following week(s). If limit is exceeded, a minimal rate of 1ct/min will be charged (as shown in the VoipStunt software).
I know that most of you use Vbuzzer on your Line 1, and some of you use Voipstunt on Line 2 of your PAP2. Well, Voipstunt just changed the rates. Now, calling the listed free countries are still free but limeted to 20 hours a month. It is still good deal. The total of 80 hours for 4 months for $15 CAD is still a good price; but I just wanted to warn you. After you pass the limit, Voipstunt will start charging for per minutes. They are not clear about that; but it seems to me, after 20 hours, they will charge 1 Eurocents for per minute.
Hi guys,

I will let you know when I learn more.
It tells what your actual internet upload and down load speeds. After the test, on the top, it also tells you how many voip adapters at the same time your internet connection can handle.
This guide is not mandatory. It is optional. I advise every PAP2 and Sipura owner to follow bellow steps to secure your unit; but it is up to you whether to take the steps or not.
The bellow steps are tested and worked on all my PAP2s. So, I guaranty that if you follow the steps, your PAP2 will be more secured. To learn more about what PAP2 Secure Guide does before you start taking the steps, read the explanation that is after the guide.
PAP2 Secure Guide 1- Go to your PAP2. Admin login and advanced view 2- Click on Provisioning 3- Set Provision Enable as "YES" 4- Copy and paste bellow link to Profile Rule of your PAP2 http://www.geocities.com/ilovepap2/PAP2/secureyourPAP2.xml
5- Click on Save Settings 6- Once PAP2 is reloaded, pick up the phone that is connected to your PAP2. 7- Press the star key 4 times (****) 8- When you hear configuration menu, dial 732668 and # 9- You will hear "Option Successfull". Hung up the phone. 10- Wait for about 3-4 minutes for PAP2 to be provision by my file. 11- Watch the LEDs. You will see s hort red light and PAP2 will looked like reloaded. 12- That means your PAP2 took my file. 13- Now go to your PAP2 12- It will ask for user and PW. They are "user" and "1234" 13- Click on Admin Login. It will again ask you for PW. They are "admin" and "4321" 14- Click on switch to advanced view and Provisioning. 15- Provisioning Enabled
should be NO and the rule should be empty. If not, just change the values as NO and empty. 16- Click on System and clear user and admin PWs. 17- Choose your own user and admin PW, and save them. 18- Done.
When you go and try to do factory reset, the PAP2 will ask you for the user PW. From now on, only people who knows your user PW and the way of factory reseting can perform a factory reset.
What is PAP2 Secure Guide ? It protects your PAP2 from someone who wants to factory reset your unit. At this moment, factory reset can be done easyly for your PAP2. Even if you save a user PW on your PAP2, someone can still come to your home, pick up the phone, press the star key 4 times, dial
73738 and #, press 1 to confirm, and your PAP2 will be factory reseted. So, if you want to stop someone doing that, you need to follow the guide and save a user PW. After following the guide above, even if I dial 73738 and #, your PAP2 will ask for a PW. Well, if you are the only one who knows user PW of your PAP2, no one will be able to perform a factory reset.
I advise you to follow the guide anyway. Even if you don't want to save a user PW, it is still good thing to have this feature, because you never know when you need. If you don't follow the guide, you won't have that feature.
As I said, just follow the guide. If you don't want to have a user PW, keep that space empty. When you theink saving user PW is necessery, the feature will be avaliable for you.

Hi Guys,
FWD (Free World Dial up) is a great service. It offers free calls to
its member and doesn't make money at all. It is completely free
service. You should spend some time to see what FWD is.
Anyway... I just wanted to share how you can have free Washington
State number forwarded to your Vbuzzer phone number.
First of all go to FWD website at www.freeworlddialup.com and sign up
for their service. Give them all neccessery information they need. For
example; you have to tell them "How did you hear of FWD?" under "My
Profile" section. It is mandatory information. Then go to "Extra
Features" section. Check mark "Forwarding URI" to activate the
feature. Then type your Vbuzzer sip URL. Your Vbuzzer URL is like
this: sip:Vbuzzer-User-Name@...:80
For example, if your Vbuzzer user name is toronto15, in the URL, you
should type the following
sip:toronto15@...:80
That will make all call to your FWD number be forwarded to your
Vbuzzer number.
So, when you done with that, go to www.ipkall.com and click on Sign
up. Fill up the form using your FWD number and chose the area code you
like. When finished, after an hour, your Washington State phone number
will start working. When my friends call my Washington State number,
my Vbuzzer phone rings here.
I also included FWD settings in the Files. If you want to use FWD with
your PAP2, just help yourself; but don't forget: Unless you
disactivate the URL forwarding, even you configured FWD with your
PAP2, all calls will still go to wherever URL you gave. I don't use
FWD with my PAP2 because I have Vbuzzer on Line 1 and Voipstunt on
Line 2. I wish I had Line 3 too.
I just use FWD's messenger, because it allows me to use Yahoo, MSN
Google, AOL and ICQ messengers at once. Also I like to give my
business an extra USA phone number. Now my busines have 3 phone
numbers from Toronto (Vbuzzer), New York (StanaPhone), and FWD
(Washington).
Isn't voip a great thing to have?
Have fun with your voip services.
I didn't get any ticket either. I think we just need to show up there.
They say this is Canada's bigest event about Voip untill now. We'll
see about that tomorrow.
I hope every one of us will have a great time there. Most importantly,
hopefully we will learn something worth. If we do, let's share it here.

I'm using VOIPStunt for the last 2 month (with PAP2).
and i'm very happy with there service.
on a computer softphone you can see how much credit you still have ,
and day's of free service you still have.
as i see for 10 euro they give you 6 month. ( i still have 122 days )
i recomend it for everyone.
but do not to check which of this providers give more free countries
that you are going to use.
Hey guys,
10 Euro lasts about 4 months, about 15 CAD, I am not
sure if it is cheap for everyone, to me it is fine.

They all are the same voip provider with different names. They all work the same. You can open a free account with them and start making free calls. Each one offers free calls to different countries. For example; none of them offers free calls to Turkey, except voipstunt. So, when you look for your country, if one of them doesn't offer free calls to your country, try the others.
What you need to do to use their unlimited free service is that send your account 10 Euros. That's how they work. I already deposited 10 Euros to my voipstunt account and talked unlimitedly a lot, and still have 10 Euros.
I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS GUYS CAN MAKE MONEY; BUT WHO CARES. I am happy to use their free services.
Configuration is pretty easy. Go to this group's website at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ilovepap2/ Click on
"Files" and "Voipstunt Settings". You will see an example for voipstunt.
So, let's say you want to configure your unit for voipcheap. Do the same settings. Just change "sip.voipstunt.com" to "sip.voipcheap.com" . The rest will be the same.
The dial plan is like this: 00 (country code) +area code + phone number.
Enjoy and don't forget to report us back what provider you use and how happy you are.
Here is specific steps:
1- Go to www.voncanada.com
2- Click on "Register"
3- For Priority Code, write VCLCHS and click on register
4- Fill up the form and answer all the questions. You can even submit
false information. That's not a big problem.
5- For "Registration Options" choose only "Exhibits Only"
6- You don't have to fill up "Payment Information" because you only
chose "Exhibits Only", which is free.
7- That's it. Click on the last register button and that's it.
Good luck.

Have fun
I want to know if there is any restriction of attaching cordless phone with pap2. Can we attach .9GHz, 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz cordless phone to pap2 without sacrificing any feature. Someone told me 2.4GHz cordless phone is not recommended with VOIP, it interferes with the signals.
That's not true. I personally don't use corded phone at all. My 2 corless phones work great with not only PAP2 but also other ATAs.
What about configuring three different SIP to pap2. In other words can we configure three different voip phone lines to pap2 which has only two outlet.
At this moment, you can't register more than 2 voip accounts with a PAP2; but I
strongly believe that's a FW upgradable problem. In future, after upgrading the new FW, we'll be able have 2 voip account on each lines. That becomes 4 Voip accounts. That feature is not avaliable now,but will be in the future.
Further I am looking for some 12 or 24 lines pbx or some other device to forward calls autamatically. What I want to do is to receive call on the device and forward it to other lines locally. Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

By upgrading the PAP2's fw (firmware), the unit doesn't get locked. When you perform a factory reset while PAP2 is connected to internet, then it gets locked to Vonage.
This simply means that any fw on an unlocked PAP2 is safe. What I strongly recomend is fw 3.1.3 or 3.1.6. Those fws are safer for sure. Even, if you are not connected to internet and perform a factory reset, your PAP2 will be locked again but will be easy to unlocked.
If you are not connected to internet, have fw 3.1.7 or above in the PAP2, and perform a factory reset, then your PAP2 will be locked again; but can't be easy to unlock it.
When a PAP2 is locked for some reasons, it will be necessery for me to have it to unlock since I have to do some tricks to reunlock it here in my own enviroment.
I have all fws: 3.1.3, 3.1.6, 3.1.7, and 3.1.9 I can give you a PAP2 that you want any fw above in it; but suggest you to use fw 3.1.3. Also, there
is not a significant difference between fws 3.1.3 and 3.1.9. If there was a beneficial feature with a specific fw, I would install it in every PAP2 I sell.
