Folks,
Ilkka once proposed a "blinking star feature" to check the quality of the
reference stars and plate constant fit. The idea was to compute the expected
position of stars in the field of view and overlay it blinking to the real video
image (like in a blink comparator).
I have implemented this feature recently for MetRec and just now also for
PostProc. I'm still in the testing phase, so it's not yet available to you.
Still I used the February data for a first quality check of the individual
cameras.
Fortunately, I found no deviation between the expected and the observed star
positions in most cases: AKM2, BOCAM, BMH1, FIAMENE, FINEXCAM, HERMINE, ICC4,
MIN38, RF1, TIMES4
However, I found minor deviations for some cameras where the reference image was
measured a long time ago: KAYAK1, METKA, MINCAM1, REZIKA, SRAKA, TIMES5
Please, repeat the reference star mesaurement for these cameras soon.
I also found that in case of FIAMENE and KAYAK1 the old reference star file was
renamed to the current night. Please, refrain from doing that. The name of the
*.ref file should always reflect the night when the file was created, not the
current night.
Best,
Sirko
