Journal of Neurologic Physical Therapy to Offer Podcasting
ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 05, 2006 /PRNewswire/ -- The Journal of
Neurologic Physical Therapy (JNPT), indexed in MEDLINE, now offers
its readers podcasts of article abstracts.
Beginning with the March edition, JNPT (http://www.jnpt.org) will
offer podcasts of each article's abstract as well as the "Guide to
the Issue" and "Editor's Note." JNPT and the New England Journal of
Medicine NEJM are the first journals indexed in MEDLINE to provide
such a service.
"We are very excited about this development," said JNPT Editor Judith
Deutsch, PT, PhD. "Readers are now able to listen to the abstract of
each article as well as to commentaries and discussions with the
authors."
Podcasting allows listeners to download audio files to their
computers and then transfer to mp3 player, computer, or iPod. The
March online edition of JNPT contains icons in its table of contents
for each article that can be podcast. "We are planning many more
forums where our authors and readers can interact," explained
Deutsch.
Published quarterly by APTA's Neurology Section, JNPT features
research articles, critical reviews, case reports, and special
interest papers that contribute to the development and effective use
of neurologic physical therapy.
The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is a national
professional organization representing more than 65,000 physical
therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students. Its goal is
to foster advancements in physical therapy practice, research, and
education.
