It sounds like you may be attempting to execute the program on the PC rather than on the robot.  Please verify you are using the procedure in the "Loading and Running Your Program" section on page 22 of the RoboJDE User Guide (http://www.ridgesoft.com/robojde/2.0/docs/RoboJDEGuide.pdf).
