SIBER SYSTEMS TO SHOWCASE BETTER ALTERNATIVE TO SINGLE SIGN-ON AT RSA
CONFERENCE 2008
RoboForm Enterprise Password Management Application is Easier to
Implement than SSO, Eliminates Enterprise Risks Posed by Typical SSO
Central Password Database
FAIRFAX, VA — (April 7th, 2008) — Siber Systems, Inc., a company
dedicated to providing world-class computing productivity software for
enterprises and individuals, today announced it will exhibit its
breakthrough password management solution, RoboForm Enterprise, at RSA
Conference USA 2008 in San Francisco, April 7-11. RoboForm Enterprise
provides an improved, client-based strategy for Single Sign-On (SSO)
that circumvents many of the problems associated with SSO technologies
such as challenging implementation regimens and vulnerabilities to
attack at a central password database.
RoboForm Enterprise is a cost effective, easy and secure solution that
protects multiple user passwords in a highly secure software "vault."
The application securely stores employee usernames, passwords and
other confidential information using powerful AES encryption and a
user-defined master password. RoboForm Enterprise offers multiple
advantages over SSO solutions including:
Easy Implementation. RoboForm eliminates the considerable task of
assembling a central SSO password database. The RoboForm installer is
compatible with most automated software install programs, making it
easy to deploy on hundreds or even thousands of PCs.
Flexibility for Administrators. Administrators can fully customize
every feature to meet specific corporate security and password
standards. URLs can be white- or black-listed; unlike standard SSO
solutions, RoboForm easily supports both internal and external passwords.
Security for Everyone. SSO's require that passwords be stored in a
central database, making the entire enterprise vulnerable to a single
point of attack. RoboForm's distributed solution eliminates this risk
while also protecting identities, passwords and corporate data using
AES with a user-defined master password as the key.
Productivity for End Users. Users memorize only one master password.
RoboForm Enterprise remembers all the rest, and provides true
automated logins.
Cost Effective for the Bottom Line. Intuitive interface, online help,
and no server component means RoboForm provides an immediate ROI via
increased employee productivity and reduced helpdesk calls.
"RoboForm has all the benefits of Single Sign-On without all the
negatives," said Bill Carey, Siber Systems VP of Marketing. "Unlike
other SSO solutions, RoboForm Enterprise is easy to deploy, easy to
implement, and completely customizable—plus we have a trial version so
IT professionals can test it first. We've eliminated all risk."
Study Available
Siber Systems recently released a survey report entitled "Password
Management Survey: IT Managers Respond to the Impact of Password
Policies on Security and Productivity." The study found that U.S.
workers, managers, and IT staffs alike are increasingly confronted
with difficulties arising from computer passwords.
Siber Systems' report, which reflects the input from 617 IT
professionals from all levels and disciplines, detailed the
distressing state of password protection in the modern enterprise.
Over half of all respondents said the average employee in their firms
are required to remember three to five passwords, with an additional
26% saying the number ranges from six to ten or more. Nearly half said
that employees are required to use passwords more than 25 times per
week; 66% stated that employees write down or store passwords in
unsafe places, creating a security problem for their companies.
According to the survey findings, one-third of companies surveyed plan
on implementing a new or improved password management solution before
the end of calendar year 2008. "RoboForm Enterprise is solving one of
the most difficult problems companies face today – protecting
corporate data through increased password security – at a fraction of
the cost and risk of typical SSO solutions," stated Carey.

Markup Generator is a simple tool created for xhtml/css coders that are
tired of writing boring frame code at the very beginning of slicing
work. It’s main purpose is to speed up your work by generating xhtml
markup and a css frame out of very intuitive, shortened syntax so you
can jump directly to the elements styling. This tool uses enhanced,
line-by-line, css-a-like syntax with space indent to generate xhtml
markup. You can add tag, ids, classes, content and an additional code.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (Feb. 7, 2008) - Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) today
announced Google Apps Team Edition as the simplest and fastest way for
groups of employees and students to collaborate within an organization
using Google Apps(tm). Once users verify their business or school email
address, they can instantly share documents and calendars securely
without burdening IT for support. Team Edition can easily be switched
to Google Apps Standard, Premier or Education Edition for
communications and collaboration across the entire company.
"More than half a million businesses have already chosen Google Apps
to collaborate and share information across the organization," said
Dave Girouard, vice president and general manager of enterprise,
Google. "With Team Edition, groups of individuals at school or work
can just as easily get the benefits of Google Apps by simply signing
up online."
Once a user has signed up for Team Edition using a verified business
or school email address, they can instantly invite others to join, or
easily identify people within their organization already using Google
Apps, to collaborate and share documents. Together, teams of people
within a business or school can:
* Work on the same document, spreadsheet or presentation (instead of
emailing changes in multiple copies of the same attachment)
* Publish documents and calendars for the team to view and update
* Access information from any computer, even mobile phones
With Google Apps, there is no hardware or software to buy, install or
maintain, so businesses can quickly begin to collaborate with minimal
up front investment. Google Apps Team Edition currently includes:
* Google Docs(tm) to create and share documents, spreadsheets and
presentations
* Google Calendar(tm) to arrange meetings, set schedules, and publish
event information
* Google Talk(tm) for instant messaging and free PC-to-PC voice calls
* Start Page where users can access their Google Apps services and
customized content
"Our business has been tripling every year, and we needed better tools
to help us keep up with the growth. So we started using Google Docs
and Google Calendar with our personal accounts to do things like
coordinate customer visits and work together on documents, even when
we're traveling separately," said Paul Laurie, co-founder of Walking
Tree Travel (walkingtree.org), an organization that leads educational
trips abroad for high school students. "We're thrilled Google Apps
Team Edition now allows everyone at Walking Tree to be connected
automatically."
Google Apps Team Edition lets colleagues and departments at work, or
study groups at school, immediately begin sharing information within a
domain. In addition, the Team Edition can easily be upgraded to Google
Apps Standard, Premier or Education Edition for full administrative
control, such as the ability to set default sharing options, decide
which applications are available on the network, or determine who has
access. When organizations switch to Google Apps Premier Edition,
they also receive business integration capabilities and 24/7 support,
including phone support for critical issues.

Internet Solutions for small and medium sized business since 1995.
V: 360-447-7384
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (January 17, 2008) - In its continuing effort to
use the power of information and technology to help people better
their lives, Google.org today rolled out five core initiatives that
will be the focus of its philanthropic efforts over the next five to
ten years. Google.org, the philanthropic arm of Google (NASDAQ: GOOG),
will collaborate with experienced partners working in each of these
fields, investing its resources and tapping the strengths of Google's
employees and global operations to advance its core initiatives.
Today's announcement includes more than $25 million in new grants and
investments to initial partners. The resources come from a commitment
by Google's founders to devote approximately 1 percent of the
company's equity plus 1 percent of annual profits to philanthropy, as
well as employee time.
"In their first Letter from the Founders (2004), Larry Page and Sergey
Brin said that we wanted to 'make Google an institution that makes the
world a better place.' The work of Google.org will help us do that by
applying Google's strengths in organizing information and scaling
technology to these complex issues," said Sheryl Sandberg, VP Global
Online Sales & Operations, and Google.org Board member.
Added Dr. Larry Brilliant, executive director of Google.org, "These
five initiatives are our attempt to address some of the hard problems
we as a world need to face in the coming decade. We have chosen them
both because we think solving them will make a better, fairer, safer
world for our children and grandchildren - and the children and
grandchildren of people all over the world - but also because we feel
that these core initiatives fit well with Google's core strengths,
especially its innovative technologies and its talented engineers and
other Googlers, who are really our most valuable assets."
Google.org joins a community of like minded groups working to make the
planet and population healthier and more equitable. Google.org's five
initiatives and initial partners include:
Predict and Prevent
Google.org supports efforts to empower communities to predict and
prevent events before they become local, regional, or global crises,
by identifying "hot spots" and enabling a rapid response. Rapid
ecological and social changes are increasing the risk of emerging
threats, from infectious diseases to drought and other environmental
disasters. Google.org is initially focused on Southeast Asia and
tropical Africa. In Southeast Asia, a hot spot for SARS and
potentially bird flu, Google.org is working with partners to
strengthen early warning systems and build local capacities to prevent
the next pandemic. Initial grants include:
$5 million to InSTEDD (Innovative Support to Emergencies, Diseases and
Disasters) to improve early detection, preparedness, and response
capabilities for global health threats and humanitarian crises.
InSTEDD will work with the community of relief and response
organizations, governments, academia and top scientists around the
world to address gaps in information flow with software and other
technology-based tools and services. Acting as an innovation
laboratory, InSTEDD aims to support the humanitarian community in
preparing for and responding to global public health emergencies,
working together towards a safer world. For more information, see
http://instedd.org/.
$2.5 million to the Global Health and Security Initiative (GHSI),
established by the Nuclear Threat Initiative to prevent, detect, and
respond to biological threats. Google.org's support will help GHSI to
strengthen national and sub-regional disease surveillance systems
through workforce training and better laboratory capacity in the
Mekong Basin area (Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and
Yunnan province, China). For more information, see http://www.ghsi.org/.
More than $600,000 to Clark University, with equal funding from the
Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, for Clark Labs to develop a system
to improve monitoring, analysis and prediction of the impacts of
climate variability and change on ecosystems, food and health in
Africa and the Amazon. This system is a prototype platform to deploy
global environmental, health, and development data, information and
analysis tools that the global community can freely access over the
Internet. For more information, see http://www.clarklabs.org/.
Inform and Empower to Improve Public Services
Google.org works with partners to improve the flow of vital
information to improve basic services for the poor in India and East
Africa. In many countries in the developing world, essential public
services are failing, especially for the poorest members of society.
Google.org supports efforts to provide information to empower citizens
and communities, providers, and policy makers to improve the delivery
of essential public services such as education, health, water and
sanitation. Initial grants include:
$2 million to Pratham, a non-governmental organization in India, to
create an independent institute that will conduct the Nationwide
Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) as well as large scale
assessments in the education sector. Our goal is to expand these types
of assessments to other sectors. For more information, see
http://www.pratham.org/.
$765,000 to the Centre for Budget and Policy Studies, a Bangalore-
based analysis group, to create a Budget Information Service for local
governments to facilitate better district- and municipal-level level
planning in India. For more information, see http://www.cbpsindia.org/.
$660,000 to the Center for Policy Research, an action oriented think
tank based in India, to increase the debate and discourse on issues of
urban local governance and urban service delivery. With the rapid
expansion of cities in India, our goal is to provide policy makers the
necessary information to make more informed decisions. For more
information, see http://www.cprindia.org/.
Fuel the Growth of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises
Google.org supports efforts to lower transaction costs to invest in
SMEs, create opportunities to access larger financial markets and make
investments in this sector. SMEs are critical for inclusive economic
growth and job creation in the developing world, but lack the capital
and tools necessary to succeed. Many micro-enterprises and most large
businesses have access to capital through microfinance institutions,
banks and capital markets, but SMEs remain extraordinarily
underserved, creating a "missing middle." Google.org wants to help
increase the flow of capital to "the missing middle" by tackling some
of the root causes that prevent these firms from becoming profitable
investment opportunities. Technoserve is an initial partner:
$4.7 million grant to TechnoServe to provide general support to expand
Technoserve's efforts to support enterprises, spur job creation, and
strengthen poverty alleviation programs globally, and to develop and
implement a business plan competition to support entrepreneurs in
Ghana and Tanzania. For more information see, http://www.technoserve.org/.
These three new efforts join two climate change related initiatives
announced earlier this year:
Develop Renewable Energy Cheaper Than Coal (RE<C)
This cross-Google collaboration has set a goal of producing one
gigawatt of renewable energy capacity that is cheaper than coal,
within years not decades. The initiative, known as RE<C, was launched
in November 2007 and will focus initially on advanced solar thermal
power, wind power technologies, enhanced geothermal systems and other
potential breakthrough technologies. For more information on Google's
commitment to a clean energy future, see
http://www.google.com/renewable-energy.
As part of the RE<C initiative, Google.org is supporting strategic
investments, including:
$10 million to eSolar, a Pasadena, CA-based company specializing in
solar thermal power which replaces the fuel in a traditional power
plant with heat produced from solar energy. eSolar's technology has
great potential to produce utility-scale power cheaper than coal.
Google announced its intention to work closely with eSolar in
November, and has now closed the investment deal. For more
information, please visit
http://www.google.com/corporate/green/energy/esolar.pdf.
Accelerate the Commercialization of Plug-In Vehicles (RechargeIT)
RechargeIT is a Google.org initiative that aims to reduce CO2
emissions, cut oil use and stabilize the electrical grid by
accelerating the adoption of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and
vehicle-to-grid technology. Google.org launched a $10 million request
for investment proposals this Fall, and will invest amounts ranging
from $500,000 to $2 million in selected for-profit companies whose
innovative approach, team and technologies will enable widespread
commercialization of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, electric
vehicles and/or vehicle-to-grid solutions.
Unlike conventional philanthropies, Google.org is a hybrid
organization, giving it the flexibility either to make direct grants
or invest in for-profit companies that might yield returns. Google.org
can also lobby public officials in favor of policies supporting its
goals.
Additional Google Giving
Beyond the grants and investments announced today under Google.org's
core initiatives, Google will continue its philanthropic work through
programs to leverage Google products for non-profits, including:
Google Grants(tm), which donates free ads to non-profits; Google Apps(tm),
which provides free, web-based services to non-profits; and
contributions from departments including Google Earth(tm), which offers
mapping to monitor events such as the crisis in Darfur.
About Google.org
Google.org, the philanthropic arm of Google, uses the power of
information and technology to help people improve their lives. We
develop and invest in tools and partnerships that can help bring
shared knowledge to bear on the world's most pressing challenges in
the areas of climate change, economic development and global health.

Fresh off Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales' announcement of his impending
community-powered search engine Wikia, EarthFrisk.org has drawn first
blood, announcing their community search engine, ready for use.
EarthFrisk promises better results and less spam by eliminating the
traditional algorithm- and link-based search and will rely on
community involvement in the way of votes and comments to produce
search results. It all hinges on their color value (CV) system. When a
search result is returned, users have the option to log in, then vote
and comment on the result. EarthFrisk says that this method keeps
results from being manipulated by bogus links and that their CV
ratings "cannot be manually altered by any one company." By
downloading the EarthFrisk toolbar, users can get a quick view of a
site's "value" by looking at the CV bar for a color-coded rating. In a
quick test of the new service, presumably because of limited use, all
of the results have returned a "green" rating.
EarthFrisk returns results from many major outlets from a variety of
categories - Search Engines (Google, MSN, Yahoo, Ask, Clusty), Social
Media (Digg, del.icio.us, Technorati, Stumbleupon, Reddit), and
Information (Wikipedia, Brittanica, Dictionary, Infoplease WebMD).
A couple of nice features at first glance:
* A preview pane pops up when moused over (why has Google not
included this simple feature?). But so far, many of the previews are
blank and read "forbidden request."
* Search only certain resources, such as Google, Digg or Wikipedia.
In the end, just like everything community-powered, the real value
will only be seen when users actually participate. And with every
social media outlet imaginable, taking even more time away from people
could be a tall order.

definitive agreement to acquire the company for $3.1 billion in cash
from San Francisco-based private equity firm Hellman & Friedman along
with JMI Equity and management.
"The FTC's strong support sends a clear message: this acquisition
poses no risk to competition and will benefit consumers," said Eric
Schmidt, Chairman and CEO, Google. "We hope that the European
Commission will soon reach the same conclusion, and we are confident
that this deal will deliver more relevant ads for consumers, more
choices for advertisers, and more opportunities for website
publishers."
The acquisition was approved earlier this year by the Australian
Competition and Consumer Commission and was recommended for approval
by one of three Brazilian regulatory agencies. Google cannot close
the acquisition until the European Commission, which is still
examining the transaction, grants clearance of the deal.
In its clearance opinion released today, the FTC explicitly rejected
any current or potential competition concerns. Google and DoubleClick
are complementary businesses and do not compete with each other.
Google's current business primarily involves the selling of text-based
ads, while DoubleClick's core business is delivering and reporting on
display ads. DoubleClick does not buy ads, sell ads, or buy or sell
advertising space. Rather, it provides technology to enable
advertisers and publishers to deliver ads once they have agreed to
terms, and to provide advertisers and publishers statistics relating
to those ads.
The FTC's opinion also noted the robust competition in the online ad
serving space, and Google's acquisition of DoubleClick is just one of
several recent transactions that underscore this strong competition.
In recent months, several major transactions in the online advertising
space were announced, including Yahoo's acquisition of Right Media;
AOL's acquisition of ADTECH AG and TACODA; WPP Group's acquisition of
24/7 Real Media; and Microsoft's $6 billion acquisition of aQuantive
and acquisition of AdECN Inc.
While the FTC's opinion reaffirmed the law by noting that privacy
concerns played no role in its merger review, Schmidt reiterated the
company's commitment to user privacy.
"For us, privacy does not begin or end with our purchase of
DoubleClick," Schmidt said. "We have been protecting our users'
privacy since our inception, and will continue to innovate in how we
safeguard their information and maintain their trust."

Social Networking with Training Wheels Ten ways to get started with social networking today
Look, I don't really think that the mySpaces and Facebooks of the
world are that important for the typical small business as they stand
today. There may be very practical business reasons for some to
actually use these and other, what are called social networks, for
business gain, but most people that have jumped on the social network
bandwagon have found themselves left with a "is this all there is" kind
of feeling.
To those I say this, the value of the current public social networks
for business folks is not what you can get out of them for gain today,
but what you can learn by using them for practical gain tomorrow.
That's why SpacebookedIn makes sense for you now
The Facebooks of the world are busy teaching millions and millions
of business folks how social networks work, how social networking
works, how shared applications can be viral and ever-present. The real
payoff in my opinion is that the wave to come after the Facebook bubble
bursts is the "personalized business network." Once everyone of your
customers and prospects knows how to use what are easily replicatable
social networking tools, like building profiles, sharing video and
connecting based on mutual interests, your job of building your own
social business network around your own very specific community of
niche will get a whole lot easier.
2008 will be the year of the personalized social business network.
So, if you've decided to take a pass on the whole social networking
trend, I would suggest that you use this handy list to start learning
to ride this bike with the training wheels on.
Ten ways to get started with Social Networking.
1) Read 10 blogs - sign-up for a Bloglines
account and search for and subscribe to 10 blogs about social
networking - you can return daily to your page on Bloglines to find and
read all the new content on your 10. Of course you can add blogs about
your industry and interests here too.
2) Comment on 10 blogs - posting relevant comments to blogs you read
is a very simple form of social networking. It's also a good way to get
some extra visitors your site or blog.
3) Join Facebook - Join and
create a profile. Find and friend some of your existing contacts using
tools on Facebook. You'll be surprised how many people you already know
have Facebook accounts. Facebook has some real value for you because of
the rich set of tools and large amount of active users. This is a great
place to experiment with how people interact in social networks. Once
you get your feet wet you may also find that Facebook is a great way to
connect with business contacts you may never bump into otherwise.
4) Create a mySpace page - this
service is really embraced primarily by musicians and the younger set.
It also happens to have a large underbelly contingent so be warned, but
it is a great tool for learning how to build a presence outside of your
web site.
5) Join LinkedIn - this is a
service that's been called Facebook for business. It is really about
meeting and connecting with like-minded business folks. It is a great
service for people looking for a job or to make connections with people
who may be out of reach without an introduction.
6) Visit Ning - this is the
largest custom social networking service that allows you to create your
own community using a variety of tools that can be branded to match
your current site.
7) Create a Workbench
profile - this one's a little self-serving as this is my new social
business networking site but it's a good example of the personalized
business community that's the next wave for small business.
8) Create a Twitter account -
this tool is pretty silly on the surface, it allows you to type in 160
characters or less what you are doing right now. It feels like a giant
waste of time but a very large and active community has grown around
this kind of micro-blogging and you should understand how people are
using it.
9) Create a StumbledUpon
profile - This is a social network built around discovering and
recommending sites that you like. Active stumblers can send a lot of
traffic your way
10) Create a Digg account - this
site allows you to keep up to the minute with what's happening in the
world of business. Users submit and vote on what is believed to be the
most important content.
You might also consider Mixx, Squidoo and Flikr as places to find and develop niche related communities when you're ready to really get out there.
Think of mySpace, LinkedIn and Facebook as your labs - get in there
and experiment for the future. then start planning your own
personalized social business network.
