I've been trying to determine if I am an INTP or
an INTJ.

Looking through the web I've found
that the INTJopen bulletin board has over 95 members
and more than 20,000 messages whereas this group has
EIGHT memeber and about 1,000 messages!!!!

I
guess the INTPs are a little too private to share!

Hello everyone.
As an INTP I happen to be
religious, yes. My faith is called Logic.
<grin>

As concerning the separation of church and state, I
just happened to think up something this morning that
may be interesting: In a way, the separation of
church and state is a *validation* of the church by the
state. By assuming that religion is more then a useful
tool to control populations, the metaphysicality of
religion is legitimised. For if religion is only a tool
serving a function of a state (motivation and
restriction) then the state should use it.
Thus, we can see
the value of a four-aspect religion, each facet of
which would corrispond to a different temperament. In
this way, morality is enforced across the board--and
if endorsed by the state-- reaching everyone.
And this is a good thing if one values stability of
society over other factors that might be tarnished as a
result.

Any thoughts?
It is a good a topic as any. I can tell you from
my membership to several INTJ lists, that they
(INTJ's run the gamut) but have a larger percentage of
agnostics and atheists than the population at
large.

I am a methodist (Xian).

Mike
INTJ ;-)
One thing that is currently interesting me is the
separation of church and state. Living in the little metal
tab of the buckle of the Bible Belt, this is
something that I feel I have to fight for or else I will be
steamrolled-over.

My question about it is: As an INTP are you
religious? I am especially curious because everything I have
read on the INTP type says they (we) must take
everything on a rational basis instead of authoritarian
arguments.

(On a final note, I am not out to make anybody mad.
However it is something I feel at least a bit strongly
about. Or something...)

:-)
My sister also got me a plant/fish combo for my
birthday. It has a peace lily growing out of an Icee lid
with the roots in water. A betta fish is in the
bottom. The fish feeds off the roots and the plant feeds
off the fishes... err... excretions. It is a nice
type of thing since not much care is needed for it, as
well as being an interesting conversation
piece.

Unfortunately the fish died last Friday. (I got it the Sunday
before.) So right now I have a dead fish in some water.
However, since it's feeding the plant right now and since
I can't find another betta fish yet at the mall or
Walmart, I haven't replaced it.
::comes out from under rock,
waves::
Greetings...
I have a dog, right now, by my mother's choice (I
am 17, and INTP... I hear it's virtually incurable.
Since so much of my life is conducted virtually as
opposed to IRL, well...). I tend to be a cat person. Dogs
love you unconditionally; cats judge you worthy first.
I tend to follow the feline style
myself...

Kat
(really, it's not just because of the name...)
I don't have pets right now. When I do have pets, I usually get 2 cats. They
aren't as "needy" as dogs and with two they can play with each other whenever
they want.
I did notice that your profile said you were a
different type, but I also noticed there were a total of
four members.

Also, I have a watch that does
have several different alarms. I do use it to remind
me of several different things...
Dennis,

I am in fact an INTJ. I created
these lists for each MBTI type so as to effect a
concentration of that type for the purposes of satisfying a
request made to me by some individuals who have observed
my INTJ site. With respect to your example however,
I would speculate that the trait described is
relevant to NT's in that I set alarms all over the place
to remind me of all sorts of tasks which I consider
to be mundane and therefor cannot easily
remember.

Mike
According to the stuff I read on INTP's, we are
supposed to be "absent-minded professor" types. What is an
example in your life about this?

One thing I do,
for example, is I have to take a certain medicine
every day at lunch (it has to be done with food). I
have my watch set to go off at my lunchtime to remind
me to take my medicine with me. I found that I also
had to start my countdown timer to go off every 15
minutes to remind me when I am at lunch with food in
front of me to take the blasted pills.
Pretty normal, I guess... :-)

Anyway, I am
trying to con my work into springing for the full test
for everybody. Fortunately one of the things
mentioned in the last employee survey was poor
communcations in the company.
Dennis,

Welcome to the club. You are of
course the second member. I would suspect that you
should really take the test (the real one) if you want
to be sure. I would suggest form K if you get the
chance.

So, how does it feel to be an INTP.

Mike
