If you do delete the folder, it will come back if you ever upgrade.  Best to do
it through a component.  Can't remember the name of the include off the top of
my head, but its buried somewhere =)

You could either delete the Trays folder or just make it unreadable.
weblayout/resources /layouts/ Trays/
