These files happen to be .rtf files that are automatically generated
from an application.
We will be giving them generated file names and the document title will
not be able
to be derived from that generated file name. But, the document title
is always the second line
of the file (special characters and such exist in the document title,
too).

Okay, here is my latest question concerning batch loading.
When you are batch loading files from one directory and the document
title is always the second line of the file, what
is the easiest way to grab that line and specify it as the document
title for the batch loading hda file?
I was thinking of just writing a VB program to do it, but I didn't know
if there was an easier way. We
do have the IDK, and I guess we could do it the VB/IDK way.
Any ideas?
I am currently trying to solve a problem with authentication between
UNIX and NT users. The problem is that most users use NT while about 4
percent use only UNIX. The UNIX users are very vocal and have a lot of
power becuase they can circumvent any technology we put in and they are
the ones inventing the stuff we make. So, to solve this problem, I've
decided to setup certificates. The server is on NT and I've checked
the IIS4.0 option to accept certificates. I will create a page that
will automatically download a certificate (I recieved the jscript code
from MS) to a file on the server. I will then monitor the directory or
setup email notification and map these certificates to nt logons.
Wish me luck.
Our site can't view PDFs for previous revisions of documents because of
a bug
(feature) in Netscape Enterprise Server. It seems that NES doesn't
like tildes
in file names, and it refuses to serve up such files. Intranet
Solutions has
sent me a fix, which involves editing config\obj.conf and replacing
<Object ppath=g:/intradoc3/*">
AuthTrans fn="intradocAuth"
</Object>
with
<Object ppath=g:/intradoc3/*">
NameTrans fn=idcNameTrans"
PathCheck fn="idcPathCheck"
Service fn="idcService"
AuthTrans fn=intradocAuth"
</Object>
After I attempted this and did all of the NES stuff, any request returns
Server Error
This server has incountered an internal error which...
[snip]
and I had to undo my attempt in order to get the server to work again.
Does anyone using NES have any experience getting this to work?

I would like to add the subscription button on the results page using

I am working on our customizations for workflows. I have
a couple of questions and I am not sure if these things are possible.
1) Can you change the workflow email message subject line?
2) Can you change the CC: and the From: section in the email?
We wanted to use a generic email address for our Intra.doc! service
questions and emails. And we would like to use this generic email
address
in the CC: and From: spaces in the email.
3) Can you specify different emails for different workflows? For
example,
we have a Treasury group that has a specific text message
to include in the workflow notification emails. This message would not
be
applicable to the general workflow email notification. Can you
customize which email format
or page.htm that are sent depending on the workflow name?
Thanks in advance,
Jennifer Pohl
Is the Adobe Acrobat piece the only one to be concerned with? We
already have Adobe installed on the server and I would actually like to

The Adobe Acrobat Install would hammer the DLL's that WaterMark

We are making the install more robust in the next release to fix that

Hi all,
I don't know if any one else noticed but in the Intra.doc! Management
System Release Notes, it states that the PDF Watermark add-on should
be installed after all of the other Intra.doc! add-on products.
Why is that? Why does the Watermark add-on have to be installed after
all of the other add-ons?

Another question regarding workflow. There is a sample workflow
customization in the directory:
/intradoc3/samples/components/WorkflowStepInfo
This is the only sample that doesn't have a Read Me file. What is
this sample component for workflow? What does it do?
Thanks in advance,

Hi all,
Is anyone doing any workflow customizations? Workflow
email customizations?
We had a situation here that our mail program does not allow us
to open htm emails unless you go through some weird menu option (which
is a pain).
We would like to simply generate a custom email to the user concerning
the workflow and then have the link included in the email.
Any ideas? Does the IDK include workflow customizations?
Thanks,
Jennifer Pohl
Yes we do have the IDK and I guess the reason I am
asking all of the batch questions - is so that we can automate
as much as possible and eliminate an administrative role.
I don't have a sample data file to share, but the purpose
of the data file was to fill in the remaining metadata so
the format could easily be name=value.

Well, in order for me to get a good picture I would need to see the data
file as well.
for batchloader the data needs to be in
metadatafieldname=value
format. There's documentation on batchloader in the sysadmin guide.
The other way is to write a vb program that uses IDCcommandX and that
way
you can load the documents right from the VB program. Do you have the
IDK?

Okay, this will be the last discussion I start today (then
I will be some one else's turn :)
I am working on fixing our dependency choice lists. Right
now, we have 5 fields: Division (Required), Department, Product,
Category,
and Subcategory. We have combo boxes on our check in and update pages
which contain the information for these 5 fields. A contributor would
start at the top and pick a Division, and then depending on which
Division was
selected, depends on which Departments are viewable in the Department
combo box. etc. etc.
There are at least 100 Divisions and many more
of the other docmeta fields (these are stored in the Intra.doc
database).
Our current customized dependency choice
list (for the check in pages and update pages) loads ALL combinations
of
Division, Dept, Product, Category, and Subcategory in to the HTML page.
Needless to say, the page loads VERY slowly and we even have a slow
response on the combo boxes, when a person tries to pick a dept which
is only
dependent on a division.
What I was wondering is what people are currently doing for dependency
choice
lists? And is there a way to use a custom query (for example, can the
page be
loaded with just the Divisions, and then once a contributor selects a
Division -
a custom query obtains all of the correct departments under that
divsion and still
be on the same check in page)?
Thanks for all your help!
Jennifer Pohl
Basically we have a simulated directory structure for the docmeta
information:
Division
--Department
-----Product/Project
For a particular user, let's say our Corn business unit,
they would have a directory structure (that they make)
North America
---Corn Milling
----Statistics
They put all of the documents that they wish to
check into Intra.doc! into the North America/Corn Milling/Statistics
folder with an additional text file: "batch.txt"
"batch.txt" would have the remaining docmeta information,
such as the default author for all of the documents, default
security group, location and other docmeta. Primary File name
would come from the document itself: "Corn Stats 10-99"
Let me know if you need more...

The metadata for the files would in a sense come from two
places: 1) from the directory structure itself (the directory name
would be a docmeta field value) and 2) already defined docmeta
for those documents - possibly in a text file within a directory.
The files are located are a different machine but within the same
Window NT domain... we could move the files on to the Intra.doc!
server and then simply delete the directories afterwards...

A couple of questions. Where is the metadata for the files coming from?
Where are the files located?
I have done this type of batchloading several times.

Hi all,
We are looking into an automated batch file application
which would look at an existing directory structure and create
the hda files necessary for the batch file checkin and then perform
the checkin. Any hints? What other automation processes are
being done by other groups?

Actually, I already did the installation and setup as described in those
documents. What I did find out is that some of the registry
information was
wrong (or not working for our system).
In the registry, you need to set up under the Parameters key of the
intradocsrv,
a value for Application. This had from the installation guide:
c:\Winnt\jview.exe IdcServer.class
Our system couldn't find that class and we needed to fully
qualify that class with:
c:\Winnt\jview.exe c:\intradoc3\classes\IdcServer.class
Now the Intradoc service runs correctly as an NT service. This was
a painful lesson and a hard one to figure out!

These files might help. Running the server is not a supported feature
although I have done it successfully.

Hi all,
Is anyone currently using the NT service setup for Intra.doc? We
are having problems our NT service setup and I was wondering
if any one else was using it?
After the setup of Intra.doc as an NT service, my understanding
was that if no one was logged on to the machine,
both the web server and Intra.doc could be reached. We can
reach the webserver but any pages which require the IdcService
are not obtainable.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Jennifer Pohl
