Whitepapers: continuously improving intranets / intranet owner   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #204 of 502 |

Hi all,

This month we explore the very interesting topic of how to
improve the usability and effectiveness of an intranet, on a
day-to-day basis, rather than in a big "redesign" project.
We also touch on who should be owning your intranet.

This is also the last KM Column for the year, so I will take
this opportunity to wish you the best of seasons greetings.
It's been a fun (and busy) year, with even more planned for
the year to come. Watch this space...

As a final note, we will be announcing a full six-month
calendar of workshops and events before we close for Christmas,
so be sure to check back on our site before you go on holidays.

[Apologies in advance for the cross-posting to
multiple lists.]

The new whitepapers:

* 10 ways to continuously improve your intranet
http://www.steptwo.com.au/papers/kmc_continuousimprovement/index.html
Explores a number of practical ways that an intranet can be improved
incrementally without yet another redesign.

* Who should own the intranet?
http://www.steptwo.com.au/papers/cmb_intranetowner/index.html
One of the first challenges when establishing an intranet is to
determine who should have overall ownership of the site, and where
the intranet team should be located.

Related articles:

* Improving your intranet, task by task
http://www.steptwo.com.au/papers/cmb_taskbytask/index.html
By improving the way the intranet supports key tasks, immediate
business benefits can be delivered in a manageable and
cost-effective manner.

* Intranet teams: a leadership and coaching role
http://www.steptwo.com.au/papers/cmb_coaching/index.html
Intranet teams should play a leadership and coaching role in the
organisation, in order to ensure that the intranet is effective,
up-to-date and usable.

We also provide an announcements list, which will ensure you find out when
we publish new whitepapers. To join this, visit:
