Have any of you been to the website
http://www.ideadollar.com ?
They'll pay you idea dollars (trade them in
dollar for dollar for amazon.com gift certificates) for
your ideas up front, and then they'll give you 15% of
whatever they make on them. It's a really good site if you
have ideas all the time, but only feel confident
patenting and trying to market a few of them. Put all of
the other ones on the site, and see what they can do
with them, and get a little bit of money up front,
too! I really like the site, let me know what you
think.

Susannah

Hi,Wes
I was just reading you message and one
piece of imformation caught my eyes. It's the part about
a gentlemen you contacted out of New York.Well this
may truly be a match for what i'm trying to
accomplish.You see i already have a patent,plus mechanical
specs. All i need is a working model to present to
market. Please forward my e-mail address to this
gentlemen.smokenmo@...
Thank You

Hi everyone, I just joined the club today, and I
must say I am thoroughly impressed with some of the
ideas and the progress everyone is making. I am 19 year
old musician/thinker, and I am working on a few ideas
of my own. I have done the usual searches for
similar patents like many of you have done yourself, and
have not found anything that I would be infringing. I
have a small-scale working model of one product that
must be kept relatively secret, but I can divulge one
bit of information: it has the potential to reduce
your electricity, gas, oil, heating, and any other
bills having to do with energy DRASTICALLY. I would
greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me out though,
as I am totally new to this field. I need to know
what steps I will have to take in order to complete
the patenting process. Even stories of what you all
did would be very helpful. Well, I think I've taken
up enough room on this board, so I'll just sit back
and hope I hear from some of you. Thanks very much,
and it's a pleasure to be a part of the
club.

Steve
Well,

Since I last posted I've completed
several steps in the idea-to-reality adventure. I made
rudimentary sketches by hand of my envisioned product and
have completed a non-professional patent search for
any existing infringements. The good news is that I
didn't find anything that I might be copying. I've been
in touch recently with a consulting firm that helps
people develop their ideas, they are not an invention
development company and were quick to point out the
difference. The difference mainly being the way that fees are
imposed; an invention development company usually has a
fixed interest in all sales and profits from an
invention. Anyway. I've also made an interesting contact up
in NY. This guy represents a community of
manufacturers in Japan and he's looking for people who might be
interested in developing some piece of mechanical equipment.
He offers a neat twist, he's willing to take your
idea (meaning you've already have a patent and
mechanical specs for the idea) and sent the specs to one of
his companies in Japan, they'll produce a dozen
working models free of charge and ship them back to you
for quality assurance. Then you have a dozen working
models with which to market the idea. His angle is that
when it comes time for mass production you'll use the
same manufacturer.

Anyway, I still haven't a
formal patent, nor a working model. But I do have some
optimism due to the fact that there still isn’t anything
out there like my idea. I’ll keep you all posted of
my slow moving progress as it develops. Thanks for
the interest. How are you all doing?

Wes

Well,

I noticed a lot of these messages
were old, so I'll take it that this message board
isn't exactly hopping but that's OK. I too have an idea
for a product and am in the middle of trying to do
the drawing part that everyone wants. I'm going to
try to do my own patent search first then see what I
come up with and take it from there. It's a pretty
simple invention, one of those slap the head, why didn't
I think of that type of things, only this time, I
did think of it. he hee. I just wanted to drop a note
to say that I will be watching this board for a
while and am willing to discuss my adventures of
turning an idea into a reality with others who might be
trying also.

Wes
There is a new product search going on right now
by, www.marketlaunchers.com. The inventors that are
chosen will have their product financed, manufactured and
marketed, plus a 5-$10,000.00 signing bonus and on going
royalties.
Search ends 31 Dec 1999,so hurry and submit your idea.
If you have a web page of your invention, you can
have noend promotion company post your invention for
free to the 1st 25 people,if not he is very
affordable, build you a small web page and post it on his site for
$20.00,yes 20 bucks will get your invention in front of
companies who may be interested in it.
www.noend.com
In a few weeks, my friends and I will be opening
our website called www.buymycreation.com. In my
opinion, it will be the only one of its kind out there for
the entrepreneurs of tomorrow to market their
inventions, creations, and products to the world. There will
be links to patent/copyright sites, message postings
for feedback on other products, and all
advertisements (which will include a picture, description, and
bio)are free.
Please forward this to anyone who
feels as though they have something to offer the world
as their one-of-a-kind creation. Some ideas include,
but are not limited to: Inventions, tools/gadgets,
music debut CDs, crafts/artwork, books/publications of
ideas, sports, games, toys, etc.
We hope to not
only have a huge number of hits from online shoppers
but also potential manufacturers, where one can
really make it big.
If this is of interest to you,
e-mail us at buymycreation@.... Include a
description of your creation, a picture, and your personal
info (name, address, e-mail, etc.) Be one of the
first!
Thank you
I have several interesting ideas and plans that I
do not intend to develop or pursue. All are rather
interesting and if you would like the details please email me
at Preparetodive329@...

Examples
include:
Underwater Habitats
Light Saber
Laser Cannon
They dont get "stolen" but on several occasions i
have told my friends or family about ideas i had and
then, sometime in the future i always see these
inventions in production. One time i invented this accessory
for a snowboarding binding and i drew out a blueprint
for it. I had it hanging on my 'fridge for like a
month then when i picked up a snowboarding magazine,
what do i see? The EXACT same product that I designed
already in prodution. I hate when that happens...
I have a great idea but I do not know what to do.
I do not have a way to draw
it except maybe on paper. I have no money to develope it. Can anyone
help????????
Hi, My name is Tom Horton and I have an invention
called the "Snap Buckle Tool". It is patent pending and
being marketed to the ceramic industry at this time. We
obtained a Provisional Patent at first and have now filed
Covential Patent Application.

It's hard to go from
being secretative about your project, to telling
everyone in the world that they need one.

We are
far enough along in the patent process that we can
disscuss many parts of the process, but be careful if you
have not secured some type of patent
protection.

I look forward to hearing from everyone.

Tom

Hi, Obtaining a Patent is expensive, and
determining if your idea is maketable is a lot of work. I
beleive that if you sell an unpatented product for 1
year, it is not longer patentable. You should confer
with a patent attorney. Is your idea documented, and
withnessed? An invention is like one of your children, you
beleive in it or not and it can cost you a lot of money.
Feel free to e-mail me.

Bucklebuster
Is there anyway to protect my idea short of a
patent. I want to see if my idea is marketable before I
spend a lot of money on something that will not sell. I
am sure that there is nothing like this on the
market now
