confused mess! So I am making big changes...

As you probably know, ionanet.com has become HUGE! The site receives a
tremendous amount of traffic and I get 700+ e-mails almost every day...
All this is wonderful but takes its toll on the pocketbook as well as my
time.... so the Lord has led me to some rather neat solutions... but
first, the bad news:

1) E-MAIL LOST!
All my tons of e-mail at varied addresses is forwarded to my
iona@ionanet address. It seemed logical but turned out to be a
disaster... and I ended up losing over 1500 e-mails, about two days
worth plus some mail I left in the "in box" so I could reply to it. So,
if you have written and not gotten a reply, please jot me another note,
I don't want to miss your mail!

2) IONANET BREAKING UP
The site has gotten so large and has so many sections I can't work on it
as a whole and visitors can't find their way around all the added
features. It grew so fast there was really no plan and now it's a
monster to administer or navigate. The only logical solution is to break
it up into smaller pieces... and this has begun... Read on:

3) HANDMAIDENS HAS BIG CHANGES http://handmaidens.org
I am splitting Handmaidens away from ionanet and am pleased to announce
it is becoming more than a monthly webzine. http://handmaidens.org was
born today! Yes, it is an organization now... We will have a member sign
up and members will receive benefits... It will take a few weeks to get
the new site built and online, and I will send a note and all the
details when that happens. Meanwhile I covet your prayers.

4) NEW ART & GRAPHICS SITE http://art4christ.net
It has been almost impossible to work on the graphics site at ionanet
because its size slowed me down so much... Also, I have had various
requests to establish a complete online gallery. Well, the first few
pages will be online next week at my new art site featuring free
graphics (actually organized!) as well as my other art for sale as
archival quality prints. Production and print making equipment will be
arriving in November! By next weekend you can visit my new Christian art
site at http://art4christ.net I pray I can sell enough art to pay for
the site and help keep ministry sites online. I have set up an art and

Jerri Phillips is one of those folks who just feeds your soul. I have
just finished her site and you'll want to graze for hours... Although
she's adding some enrichment sections, her latest and some archived
devotionals are being served right now... Come and get it!

6) ORDINATION AND NEW MINISTRY http://web4christ.org
My theses is done at last and I will receive my Ph.D. in Theology in
mid-November. That is also when Web4Christ will launch. Please pray for
the Lord's clear leading on content.

7) NEW E-MAIL ADDRESSES
All these new web sites will have new addresses for me and mail will be
received separately for each.. ie: Handmaidens mail won't be lumped in
with my personal or business mail. I'll send the new addresses when each
site "goes live."

8) NEW MEGA SERVER- WEB HOSTING BUSINESS http://host4christ.com
Some solution had to be found to cover web bandwidth and hosting fees...
so we invested in going into that business ourselves. With the very
latest equipment (we rent a piece of it) and the ability to host other
domains, we hope to provide better service for our own sites and offer
great service innovations to others in a way that makes far better sense
than the monthly host fees plans all over the web. The site will be up
Monday. Your prayers and business are requested.

9) NEW WEB ADDRESSES MAY EFFECT YOUR PAGES
Some or all the free pages I host on ionanet will be moved. the old
pages will bear the forwarding address, not to worry. But if you think
you might want your own domain (http://yoursite.com) this is a perfect
time to do it. Internic charges $35/year for the domain name
registration, and as a special price for ionanet sites, I will host your
domain on Host4Christ for the flat rate of $100 for the entire year..
about half what true domain hosting costs elsewhere.

10) NEW POLICIES
ADS
Almost all ads will be removed from my sites over the next few weeks. I
will not seek advertising business but will run ads for special
ministries, even if they are operated as a business such as the
Christian Cafe at http://www.christiancafe.com/index.php3?id=90 because
I believe they serve Christ in a very special and much needed way.

FREE SITES
I have a heart for spreading the Gospel around the internet and for
providing the means for other ministries to do the same, so I will
continue to provide a degree of free design services etc. but will do so
in a more efficient system. Watch for announcements on this.

AUTO RESPONDERS
Except for my personal mail, I will be setting up auto responders
(automated e-mail replies) but I will save anything from you folks to
answer in person... So when you get an automated response to something
you send me, don't feel neglected... your letter from me will come
soon... I usually answer mail two or three times a week.
