Remember the guy who got on a plane with a bomb built into his shoe and tried to light it?
Did you know his trial is over? Did you know he was sentenced? Did you see/hear any of the judge's comments on TV or Radio?
Didn't think so.
Everyone should hear what the judge had to say. Ruling by Judge William Young, US District Court.
Prior to sentencing, the Judge asked the defendant if he had anything to say. His response: After admitting his guilt to the court for the record,
Reid also admitted his "allegiance to Osama bin Laden, to Islam, and to the religion of Allah," defiantly stating, "I think I will not apologize for my actions," and told the court "I am at war with your country."
Judge Young then delivered the statement quoted below:
January 30, 2003, United States vs. Reid. Judge Young:
"Mr. Richard C. Reid, hearken now to the sentence the Court imposes upon you.
On counts 1, 5 and 6 the Court sentences you to life in prison in the custody of the United States Attorney General. On counts 2, 3, 4 and 7, the Court sentences you to 20 years in prison on each count, the sentence on
each count to run consecutively. (That's 80 years.)
On count 8 the Court sentences you to the mandatory 30 years again, to be served consecutively to the 80 y ears just imposed. The Court imposes upon you for each of the eight counts a fine of $250,000 that's an aggregate fine
of $2 million. The Court accepts the government's recommendation with respect to restitution and orders restitution in the amount of $298.17 to Andre Bousquet and $5,784 to American Airlines.
The Court imposes upon you an $800 special assessment.
The Court imposes upon you five years supervised release simply because the law requires it. But the life sentences are real life sentences so I need go no further.
This is the sentence that is provided for by our statutes. It is a fair
and just sentence. It is a righteous sentence.
Now, let me explain this to you. We are not afraid of you or any of your terrorist co-conspirators, Mr. Reid. We are Americans. We have been through the fire before. There is too much war talk here and I say
that to every-one with the utmost respect. Here in this court, we deal with individuals as individuals and care for individuals as individuals. As human beings, we reach out for justice.
You are not an enemy combatant. You are a terrorist. You are not a
soldier in any war. You are a terrorist. To give you that reference, to call you a soldier, gives you far too much stature. Whether the officers of government do it or your attorney does it, or if you think you are a soldier. You are
not----- you are a terrorist. And we do not negotiate with terrorists. We do not meet with terrorists. We do not sign documents with terrorists. We hunt them down one by one and bring them to justice.
So war talk is way out of line in this court. You are a big fellow. But
you are not that big. You're no warrior. I've known warriors. You are a terrorist. A species of criminal that is guilty of multiple attempted murders. In a very real sense, State Trooper Santiago had it right when
you first were taken off that plane and into custody and you wondered where the press and the TV crews were, and he said: "You're no big deal."
You are no big deal.
What your able counsel and what the equally able United States
attorneys have grappled with and what I have as honestly as I know how tried to grapple with, is why you did something so horrific. What was it that led you here to this courtroom today?
I have listened respectfully to what you have to say. And I ask you to
search your heart and ask yourself what sort of unfathomable hate led you to do what you are guilty and admit you are guilty of doing? And, I have an answer for you. It may not satisfy you, but as I search this
entire record, it comes as close to understanding as I know.
It seems to me you hate the one thing that to us is most precious. You hate our freedom. Our individual freedom. Our individual freedom to live as we choose, to come and go as we choose, to believe or not
believe as we individually choose. Here, in this society, the very wind carries freedom. It carries it everywhere from sea to shining sea. It is because we prize individual freedom so much that you are here in this beautiful
courtroom. So that everyone can see, truly see, that justice is administered fairly, individually, and discretely. It is for freedom's sake that your lawyers are striving so vigorously on your behalf, have filed
appeals, will go on in their representation of you before other judges.
We Americans are all about freedom. Because we all know that the way we treat you, Mr. Reid, is the measure of our own liberties. Make no
mistake though. It is yet true that we will bare any burden; pay any price, to preserve our freedoms. Look around this courtroom. Mark it well. The world is not going to long remember what you or I say here.
The day after tomorrow, it will be forgotten, but this, however, will long endure.
Here in this courtroom and courtrooms all across America, the American people will gather to see that justice, individual justice, justice,
not war, individual justice is in fact being done. The very President of the United States through his officers will have to come into courtrooms and lay out evidence on which specific matters can be judged and juries of citizens will gather to sit and judge that evidence
democratically, to mold and shape and refine our sense of justice.
See that flag, Mr. Reid? That's the flag of the United States of America . That flag will fly there long after this is all forgotten. That flag
stands for freedom. And it always will.
Mr. Custody Officer. Stand him down.
So, how much of this Judge's comments did we hear on our TV sets? We need more judges like Judge Young, but that's another subject. Pass
this around. Everyone should and needs to hear what this fine judge had to say. Powerful words that strike home. God bless America
Please forward this----------so that every American has a chance to
read it.
Last March, South Dakota Gov. Mike Rounds signed a bill that bans
nearly all abortions in the state. This legislation is in direct
conflict with the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision that legalized
abortion in 1973. The new law defines life as originating "at the
time of conception." The only exception is for the life, not health,
of the mother. Of course pro choice supporters have made this a
ballot issue for November 7th. Intercessors this could be the key
legislation to break the Roe v Wade decision. Pray for the voters in
South Dakota to see that abortion is not God's choice. Thank God that
the Lakota (Sioux) Nation in South Dakota has made abortion
unconstitutional on their reservation.

My server underwent emergency repairs and although some of the unfinished June pages can be accessed to loook at, no changes are going through. I have struggled with it long enough. We are moving in a week, I'll keep trying as I wait tech support, but for not, I'll just trust God's perfect timing. Everything will be at the time the reader needs it, even if I am frustrated now.
I have created a Memorial Day page to honor those who gave so much. It also has some links, including my free Memorial Day sets and graphics. I hope you will be blessed by it.
I'm actually finished 45 minutes early! It's the first time all year that I've been done on time, and it is already uploaded... April, 2006 Handmaidens!
Handmaidens is an on-line magazine I put out once a month. There is all sorts
of cool stuff in there this month... like excerpts from all 50 states' constitutions honoring God, some great writing tips, poetry and all sorts of inspiration.
Dear Ones, I covet your prayers as I continue to fight this
respiratory illness, but God is good and had lent me the strength to
at last finish Handmaidens March issue. I am still far behind on
ionanet and the other sites. BUT Handmaidens has lots to fill your
time and your heart...
I hope you'll check it out. There are some wonderful new writers in it
and each section will bless you.

Hello, dear ones. This note is coming from my new e-mail address. Please change it in your address books.
Because of my long time web exposure on my own and others' web sites, my old e-mail addresses were widely distributed to spam lists. Indeed, I can receive upwards to 700 e-mails a day, mostly spam. Because of the huge volume, I am almost always behind and am spending way too much time trying to sort out the "real" mail from the junk. Often I fail and lose mail I should read. Gmail is my solution (I hope).
We are only using these addresses with friends and family, not with any other online contacts. That will hopefully cut down the spam and ensure we actuawlly find and read e-mail from you. Thanks!
Dear Ones;
Except for one article I am awaiting approval on, the Feb 06 issue of
Handmaidens webzine is finished and ready to bless you. Be sure to
check out all the sections:

This weekend, Richard and I are going to see End of the Spear.
We don't go to many movies (big understatement).
We went to The Passion; we're going to End of the Spear.
God is doing a work through tis film, and the work extends far beyond
the audience... Lets send a message to the entertainment industry that
we are fed up with gay agenda entertainment, or any other unwholesome
presentation. We want honorable heroes for our children and ourselves.
Here is a short letter from m"Bearing Fruit" to encourage you:
Dear Friends,
End Of The Spear, Press Releases and Week One Updates
Thank you for your friendship and your partnership in this film as
we endeavor to inspire people with this story and the transforming
power of God's Word. We're heading into weekend two on 1100
screens, and we (this includes you) are still in the top 10! We're
attaching some selected "Making Contact" stories of people who have
seen it with others.
Your help with the email blasts, publications, telling others about the
film, screenings, displaying standees, prayers, and ideas have all
been used to touch over 700K lives. Please convey our thanks to the
rest of your team.
Pray with us that another 700K (or more!) people see it this weekend !
Forward this update to your contacts!
Feel free to contact me or any of the Bearing Fruit
team with questions. We're busy trying to encourage people who
"intend" to see the movie to actually buy tickets this weekend.

Blessed to be in His service,
Hi there;
I am getting better and am now working on the site a bit at a time. You
can check the home page for a list reworked pages. They are all
tagged with the date I finished so you can tell what to look at.
I covet your prayers that I may be able to recreate the sites (all of
them) to be fresh and useful as well as entertaining.... but most of
all that they would be a clear witness for Christ.
Blessed to be in His service,

I have done really nothing on the Web sites nor been in contact with
my web lists in a very
long time. I received a rather serious head injury at work and am now
recovering to a
point. I am using iListen, program that types out what I say. As I
learn to better use this
program and technology, I will begin read to link the Web sites. For
now, I send this
Mother's Day message to all of you.
As a mother of 11, and grandmother to 26, I feel I know a little bit
about motherhood.
This much I can say for sure, mothers cannot truly mother their
children until hey learn
about love from the Father.
While it is true that there is a natural love most mothers feel for
their children, it is the
Heavenly Father, through the example of his Son Jesus Christ and the
whisperings of the
Holy Spirit who teaches mothers about the real love.
May your Mother's Day be blessed, and filled with the joys of
fellowship in your church
family, your biological family, and your friends.
Please visit to my Mother's Day site where you will find poems
information, essays and
links to bless your day.

Christmas Blessings to you all.

Lord...
