After ordering had to wait that almost unbearable 1 week until ups
delivered it on friday. Just in time as the weather cleared on Saturday.
Items showed no shipping damage. Glad of that.
Assembly was no problem and instructions were complete enough to
understand.
Inserted batteries in compartment but couldn't get it to power up.
Upon further examination one of the battery contact wire assemblies
was never installed. Went to the old garage parts bin and found
another AA battery holder, removed the wire piece, inserted in the new
holder.
Works fine for now.
Saturday, set up in the light polluted back yard and having read the
posts here and on cloudy nights, leveled the mount as well as I could
and decided to do a two star alignment on stars about 180 degrees
out.I know. I read the earlier post but no problem there.
After that I just sat back and took in some "eye candy".
The pleiades, Hyades, all well within the field of view in the 12.5
plossl.
Swung over to m39. Man what a beautiful cluster. Stars were pinpoint
all across the eyepiece.
After a little more "orienting" myself I decided to call it a night.
Getting cold and not dressed for it.
All in all a very rewarding evening.
Probably the best small scope I've ever used and not a bad mount.
Solid base, no problems with looseness here however a little bit of
slop in the horizontal shaft, but not to bad.
A good scope and well worth the cost.

It's an f/5-400mm. As far as photos go their website can do better than I can. Two things I should have mentioned is this scope is shorter than you'd expect. A...

Oh! I did not realize that it is an F5. I understand how the mount can handle that. I want to try my F 6.5 Borg 101ED (once the software is straighted out),...
