Have you actually taken a look at the IPTC website?
In particular this page?

In the section under "Version 1.0 Specifications" you'll find a sentence that starts, "This material can be downloaded as either a full package or a "Photoshop CS panels only" and in that a link from the "full package" (Zip file) that contains the specifcations, the IPTC Core "Users Guide" for the past specification, as well as the Photoshop panels and a couple of my images that contain the full IPTC Core 1.0 fields.
If what you mean by "sample examples" are images, these should suffice. If you are looking for something else, then you'll need to be a little bit clearer in your writing, and perhaps write more than a single sentence. ;-)
