Thanks for your considerations.
first: this grouping of properties is only a guideline for the use of properties but not relevant at the technical level.
Our thoughts on event and the groups were: the Descriptive Metadata group holds properties reflecting the content. But in many cases you can only assert this photo was "taken at event XYZ" but not necessarily "shows event XYZ".
But on the other hand it is relevant for searching to easily select all photos which relate to an event.
We will think about it as a next spec document is to be created over the summer.
