RE: [iptc4xmp] JPG Metadata Issues

Hi David,

I now see from your mapping table that the “Description” field is intended for the caption. My work around is to bury a caption in the description, separated by an identifier. My captions will be short one-liners, while descriptions will be more verbose explanations of particular shots. User interface will contain separate input fields for the caption and (optionally) the description.

Still troubling is the lack of a ‘Keywords’ field in my jpg file. Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks again,

jwc

Jack:

You might check the EXIV site:

http://www.exiv2.org/iptc.html

Hmm, object title is not the same field as 'caption' - The caption
field in IPTC Core is referred to as the "description" field, and the
other should be the "Title" or "document title"....

You might check the chart in the back of the IPTC Core User's
guide... which is also found here....

Hope that helps.
