Information warfare wising - the forum lowering   Message List

For whatever reason, the iwar forum has been having little useful traffic
lately, but
information warfare has certainly continued its growth.

Here in the US where the propaganda war is increasing in intensity but also
slowly collapsing
under its own weight, we see such things as the revelation of a CIA agent's
identity by a top
White House Aide (Karl Rove's lawyer honestly stated that Karl didn't reveal the
name - having
only stated (an untruth - but his lawyer failed to mention that part) that Joe
Wilson't wife was
the CIA operative that had tasked him to go to Africa. The theory being that
naming Joe
Wilson't wife was not naming the agent herself, even if it uniquely identifies
the individual,
that it was not intentionally revealing that she was a CIA agent (who could have
made the
connection that working for the CIA and tasking people to gather intelligence
was somehow
connected to being an intelligence agent). The news media has republican
spokespeople
saying that it was not revealing a secret because several months later (they
don't mention the
several months later part) the revealed agent did an interview for Vanity Fair.

How is the propaganda war going elsewhere?
