The forum below has not proven popular except to spammers.

Based upon the workload required to remove the spam, and the lack of
Java ME related conversation, I have decided to remove the forums.

hi, if you want to use generic file operations in J2ME platform, use JSR75 FC(file connection). however not many handsets support JSR75 FC. or you can use MIDP RMS which has similar functionality. KVM's implementation of RMS basically use native file system of underlying platform(brew/rex in cdma for example). to get more information about RMS, go check url below and search for RMS.

what is the basic of a bluetooth obex service?
I mean the steps......

like bluetooth, our midp application searches for devices. then we get the list of available devices. if we choose one then how can we send a string\file from a mobile phone to a device which has bluetooth but not running our application?

hi,
the maximum size of an MMS message varies according to mobile phone.
You can learn the all characteristics of MMS (including max. size) of the target device
by parsing the User Agent Profile(UAProf). This profile includes filetypes, character sets, transfering
codes, language, max. image size, max. mms size and the version of mms-support of device.
You can look out this link for UAProf of some devices.

in order to write a program like that, you will need a device that
supports JSR 253: http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=253

other than that, you'll have to learn the language yourself, and do
some actual research into how things work in J2ME. There's no
hand-holding way to do this. Just start out here:

http://java.sun.com/javame/index.jsp

and start reading. download the WTK and go through examples. we're
not going to do your homework for you, but we(or people like me) will
help give you direction.

unless there is something in J2ME telephony API, I don't think J2ME is capable of handling incoming calls.

Just check in your series 40 phone does they contain midp 2.0 if they have midp 2.0 then check WMA api is supported on them or not ?
I am sure you dont' have WMA api support on series 40 phones. and MIDP 1.0 doesn't support WMA api except one or two specific handset like 3650

Hi all,

I am new to J2ME.

I need to develope an application that should identify an Incoming
call number and further proceeding on that.

I have searched lot, but i found that i could be done using telepony
api's , but jsr for the same is not released yet.

So I want to do that in another way, so any body can help me,
regarding this. Plese reply ASAP.

Thanx & Regards

Hi All,
This is Kalyan, I am working in J2ME and I was developed
an SMS program for Phone 2 Phone i.e. I will send SMS from Application
and If Other Mobile having same application I am fetching SMS to My
application otherwise it will move to mobile Native Inbox.

Here I am facing a problem. It is perfectly working in
Nokia S60 handsets and other high end mobiles. But it is not Working
on Nokia S40 and Lower end handsets like 1100,1108 etc.

I am sending address like this:

address: sms://PHONENUMBER:PORT
Payload: Message.

Using the PORT only I am retrieving messages. When I removes that PORT
its working fine on All mobiles but Its going to native INBOX.

Is there any alternative to send messages?

Pls Reply me ASAP.

Regards,
Kalyan
