Ravi, all the guys in the list are now no longer staying in Jabalpur, except
I guess, Pushpendra and 1 more guy. So, there is a need to involve more
people here.

We can have it under Creative Commons instead?
Since GIMP is available for FreeBSD also, Pushpendra can join in ... :-)

Maybe Pushpendra can join in more actively given his interest and
enthusiasm. :-)

I had shared some of these inputs published in LFY last year, and I re-share
them here:
1.It is observed that LUG is mostly confined to students and mentors
discussing basic things about Linux Installation, the ideas of FOSS,etc. and
the loop sticks till the students pass out for jobs or mentors stop being
active. There should be a system wherein, the members continue their
participation, even once they are no longer students and give back their bit
to the community and help create innovators and not just Linux Users.
2.The revival measures have a set of issues. e.g. as prashant had suggested
before, of merging the two groups, however, there was no response as there
is nobody left around to respond, so what do we merge? There are 2 LUGs in
Indore, the older one having senior professionals and is very low activity,
like ours, the other being new and confined to students re-inventing the
wheel with loads of messages. There is a need to remove this gap of
continuity as senior members prefer to discuss "the issues relating to
OpenXML standards" while youngsters prefer something like "figuring out how
to configure".
3. I suggest to have the website of LUG developed, starting with LOGO and
other stuff. If any required support like Linux Hosting, etc. is required, I
am willing to arrange the same, however, I will appreciate if other members
coordinate with the development and get it into shape.
4. Also, to re-start with, *I request all existing members to re-introduce
themselves please* mentioning their present areas of expertise and how they
can participate. For e.g. someone with expertise in SysAdmin can volunteer
to post about latest trends on SysAdmin.
5. Another idea is to put up posters/notices in colleges which I used to do
when I was there.
Its good to see the group getting back to life and these are my 2pence to
the same.
Regards,
Girish
