I just wanted to let you know that the JFugue Plugin for the jEdit Text Editor has been approved by the jEdit developers. I had to move it over from tigris to SourceForge, but you can now download it using jEdit's normal plugin installation process.
You need jEdit 4.3 pre 9, and to install the plugin just go to Plugins -> Plugin Manager -> Click the "Install" tab. JFuguePlugin will now appear in the list. Just put a checkbox next to it's name, and click "Install". You can download jEdit here: www.jedit.org, or more specifically here: http://www.jedit.org/index.php?page=download
I was thinking about putting some sort of music creation part to the plugin. It would be great if any users out there could give me some suggestions. Also, I noticed you have an algorithmic music page. Would it be possible to get some code samples of how you made those pieces of music? A good starting point might be to simply provide a UI to input some variables you may have used to create them.
Thanks,
Eric
Hi Eric,
Thanks so much for your work! I'll put a link to your jEdit plugin on an upcoming release of the JFugue website.
Keep having fun with JFugue,

that I really like the JFugue API, it seems really thought out and it
works very well. I've been playing around with it for a few weeks now.
Thank you so much for this really great API.
I found myself playing around with JFugue a lot in jEdit (a java text
editor) and decided that I could create a simple plugin that would
make my playing a lot easier.
The plugin provides methods to play selected text, or entire buffers
through JFugue.
I have it up on tigris.org, and you can download the first release
here: http://jfugueplugin.tigris.org
under the documents and file's section.
To install, just put your jfugue.jar and JFuguePlugin.jar in jEdit's
jars directory (on the Mac it's ~/.jedit/jars) and restart jEdit.
Unfortunately, I have to wait until the folks at tigris approve of the
project before I can get it into jEdit's official plugin's directory,
but I'd really like some input.
I hope this helps, and thanks again for the great API.
Thanks,
Eric
