Re: bernie charging

no mate theres no scum i do passivate everything.
my question was in regards to the water preparation proecedure,
particularly the voltage and duration times of voltage application,
and the electronics and hardware your using.
i had the feeling that i had read your recent posts that you have
altered your method.(i couldnt seem to find those posts again) and
have yet to updaate the charging document. is that right?. if so wats
the new process youve come to favour, or maybe im wrong? , do you
still charge with a variac and a bridge rec. and small filter circuit,
then adjust to 1 amp?

two sec taps at 50v each. i combine the two secondarys and make 100v
ac. then i run them through a bridge rec. then through a simple
parralell circuit comprising of a 350v 1 micraF cap then a 10w 10Ohm
resistor. i dont have a cro so i dont know how clean that comes out.
then i run three or four 20 minute charge cycles through the water
filtering inbetween and allowing to cool. almost straight away the
surface is covered with bubbles and i can no longer see the water.
around 16amp is pulled wich is a bit high, but i monitor the water
temp with a laser temp gauge so it doesnt get to hot.

Are you still getting brown scum? All we're doing is oxidizing out the impurities. Did you passivate the plates. If not, the scum will never stop, as more iron...

I use the variac and bridge rectifier to prep the water. About 1 amp of current. For the cell, I'm now using a 555 pulser circuit running at 5 Hz to spin it ...

No, I use local spring water It has significant disolved iron in it, which comes out during prepping. The voltage for 1 amp is close to 140. Bernie ... From:...
