Hi everybody,
I am located in Switzerland, and that's one year I’ve start to build a
joe cell.
The main problem was to get the SS pipes, to get as close as possible
the standard of 1'' 2'' 3'' 4''....
Finally i got a set of pipes in 316l, the other problem was that i can't
find all pipes at the correct thickness, so i have to machine some of
them, but of course nobody want to do the job, only one company accept
to do it, but every time i go there or i call them to see when it will
be finish the guy told me something like: "i have some problem in my
family, i got a lot of job, we are very busy..."
So 6 month later i get the pipes back rough, to see what i can do like this.
Size are as follow:
25mm x 2mm
50mm x 2mm
76.1mm x 2.6mm
108mm x 4mm
133mm x 4mm
The surface is rough, length is 255 mm
I assembled the pipe like this, and tested under 60v 1 amp, and try to
get it breath.
After few try the water start to move up and down, i took a small video
and post it in Google video,
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7356638410096197104&q=joe+cell&pl=true
I will try to get other pipe to make a final cell to put on my VW, i
just have some trouble to find the right size in 316l metric size.
My next try will be; 32, 51, 70, 89 mm, mean 7.5 mm gape and outside
pipe, 114.3 x 4.5mm
But in AISI 304.
Is it verry important to have 316l or 304 will do it ?
Does any one have experience with metric pipes ?
Or with steel 304 ?
You all do a great job, tank’s for your post.
Best regards,
Marco
