ICA October Event, Thursday October 16
PRESENTER: Scott Prina - President Creo Japan
TOPIC: The challenge of growing market share in Japan for
foreign IT firms
OVERVIEW:
Our presenter, Scott Prina, is President of Creo Japan which directly
competes with Fuji and Dainippon Screen by providing computer
equipment for laser imaging of printing plates, image processing,
and workflow servers. Scott will talk about competing head to head
with Japanese heavyweights and educating the target market on new
technology that cuts costs and expedites processes.
Creo (US $540M, 4000 employees) holds the number one market share
worldwide for digital workflow and 8-page imaging equipment and is
working to digitalize an industry that remains traditionally analog.
After declining in 2002, revenues in Japan are rising again. The
company is profitable, and showing quarter to quarter revenue
growth. In the past 12 months market share in the core equipment
market has more than doubled, and hit 31% in the last quarter.
