FCCJ Professional Luncheon
Graham Doxey,
President, Northface University
"A New Approach To IT Education Comes To Japan"
(12:00-13:30 Thursday, February 26, the speech and Q & A will be in
English)

Northface University president Graham Doxey will announce plans for a
campus in Japan, in yet another challenge to Japan's traditional
university structure.

During his luncheon speech, Doxey will explain the history and
philosophy behind Northface University. Established in partnership with
IBM and Microsoft, the school was founded in 2002, when it purchased the
Salt Lake City campus of an existing university. Designed by and for the
corporate world, the university offers an accelerated program in
computer science. After just 28 months of intensive study and work on
real-world-projects, students graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree
in computer science, along with a portfolio of work showing that their
education went beyond ivory towers.

Immediately prior to leading the group that founded the university,
Doxey was a Danaging Director of Lehman Brothers in Japan. He was in
charge of sales and research across the Asia Pacific region at the time.
Currently he oversees Northface University's relations with corporate
partners and works on job-placement for the school's graduates.

To help us plan properly, please reserve in advance: at the Front Desk,
3211-3161. Reservations will be taken until 16:00 Wednesday February 25th.
The charge is 3,150 yen for the hot meal (Grilled Swordfish Steak), and 1,700
yen for the sandwich plate (Roast Beef), tax included (cash only). Reservations
canceled less than 24 hours in advance will be charged in full. If you do not
make a reservation or reserve late, your meal may vary from the scheduled menu.

There will only be room for 50 persons, so reservations will be taken on a first
come, first served basis. Please contact the FCCJ (information below) to make
your reservation.
