Thursday April 15 at FCCJ:
Joint Round-Table with the Mobile <http://www.mobiliser.org/article?id=75>
Intelligence Tour
JAPAN MOBILE ROCKS
The International Computer Association (ICA) and the Mobile Intelligence
<http://www.mobiliser.org/article?id=75> Tour (MIT) are pleased to announce
a major joint networking and business development round-table event on
Thursday, April 15, 2004, at the Foreign Correspondents' Club. JAPAN MOBILE
ROCKS will bring together top mobile industry executives, developers,
strategists, planners, and academics from Europe, Australia, and Japan for a
combined round-table session on Japan's wireless Internet and its growing
success.
2004 is shaping up as Japan's mobile breakout year. Terminal makers like
Sharp and Matsushita are selling 3G handsets in the US and Europe, Japanese
mobile content developers are expanding partnerships in London, Paris, and
San Francisco, and -- at home -- 3G and super-cool new technologies are
creating revenue based on e-wallets, CD-quality mobile music, and global
roaming. The operator-driven business model pioneered by Japanese carriers
is shaking up foreign markets long hooked by the alternative, vendor-driven
model. Has Japan finally found its niche as the world's mobile tech leader?
JAPAN MOBILE ROCKS will be this season's best source of mobile business
knowledge available anywhere.
